Gen. Paul Malong has not arrested Lt. Col. Deng Ajak: Lies must be repudiated
Gen. Paul Malong has not arrested any senior SPLA Officer for refusing to go to war with the rebels in Magwi, Eastern Equatoria state
By Sunday de John, Nairobi, Kenya
November 29, 2015 (SSB) — Through his article, dated, November 27, 2015, published by Nyamilepedia world wide website and other media outlets, one Justin S. Kwaje libeled Gen. Paul Malong Awan to might have arrested one claimed Lt. Col. Deng Ajak for having refused to mount an attack on proclaimed unseen rebels in Magwi of Eastern Equatoria state.
The writer with his manifestation of insanity outrageously concocted that Gen. Paul arrested with immediate execution the said officer in consultation with the Commander-in-Chief, President Salva Kiir.
Further, the writer credulously mentioned that the Lt. Col in question refused to attack the rebels on counts that it was a gag to peace and that Gen. Paul was masterminding an offensive to complicate the implementation of the recently signed Peace deal. He ardently mentioned that it was out of guilt that Malong reacted in arrest of the Said officer.
It is for this reason that I have to react in rejection of this false libel leveled against Gen. Paul Malong. What this writer has failed to acknowledge is the meaning of the army. It is inevitable that politics in the army isn’t permissible and that Gen. Paul isn’t antipeace.
The accusations are baseless and comprehensively they are outrageous out bursts by the writer on personal mega interest and more so with vested interest in defaming the innocent army chief.
This clueless writer ought to acknowledge that Gen. Paul Malong has already and decisively withdrawn the Sudan People’s Liberation Army from all the barracks in Juba and other major cities and repositioned them more than 25 Kilometers as required by the peace deal and he has been advocating for the peaceful acceptance of rebels despite their unruly characters.
Humbly speaking, any officer of Lt. Colonel caliber cannot exchange words with Chief of General staff the way it has been alleged. As well, it is a fabrication that arresting such a junior officer requires consultation with Commander-in-Chief. That is a pathetic push by a writer so good in propaganda and character assassination and who in this case wants to depict our able army chief as symbol of war even at a time when yearning for peace has been his emblem.
It is so unpatriotic to create lies to advance the cause. If Mr. Kwaje has interest of advancing the cause of rebellion and when he isn’t contented with peace, he ought not to use Gen. Paul Malong as an anchor and a bigot for insulating his disinterest in the recently signed Peace deal.
Gen. Paul Malong has never been a popular anarchist, he is a law abiding citizen that has more interest in seeing peaceful South Sudan. It is true that if Malong doesn’t want peace, he won’t arrest a mere Lt. Col that doesn’t even command a battalion. The officer will be too insignificant and wouldn’t even be closer to the chief in the SPLA’s parade.
There is no Lt. Col Deng Ajak arrested in the name of rejection of war in South Sudan and if it happened that there exist one Deng Ajak in the ranks and files of the SPLA that would be a different one.
As well an officer with such a name can never lead a successful battle because the name portrays cowardice in itself. Gen. Paul a brave commander, known for victories in battles can never rely on underdog officers such as this claimed Ajak if he has a war plan. His front officers have ever been characterized by high valour, inherent ability on war strategy, obedience and unmatched integrity but not cowardice and politics.
It is true that the core reason of writing the article is to create unnecessary political debate in Malong’s name. It is belittling of Malong that would be considered principal in this wanting piece.
It is true that Gen. Paul Malong has been defamed and a mere concern citizen has a right to react in writing in rejection of falsehood levelled against him because a society built on falsehood lasts not.
The country we are in needs to be harnessed by all citizens in good faith and dismissal of fabrications especially when they are centered in destruction of the country is one such mechanism of harnessing the country’s cohesion.
It is becoming part of this rebellion that the falsehood mantra of libeling innocent people in the name of self-elevation is central and I stand by Malong today because he has been falsely defamed. I challenge the writer to adduce more evidence in substantiation of this claim.
I hope this said author will revert from his will power of peace rejection and accept to forge nationalism in concomitant with norms and core values of our nation by accepting not to lie in the name of innocent people. I hope this finds you well.
Till then yours truly, Mr. Teetotaler!
