January 24, 2016(SSB) — Oppositions promise citizens to tarmac for them a road from town A to town B if it is voted into power. But when the government buys that idea and paves the road, it doesn’t cause alarm. A government in power does what is in the interest of the citizens to win their support. It is not a problem in the rest of the world.

But this is not the case in South Sudan. Because some politicians are politically naïve, they do not want their ideas to be implemented by someone in power. They prefer the ideas buy from the public to wait until one comes into power to implement them. This is the reasons the newly created states brought peace implementation to a deadlock.

January 24, 2016(SSB) —- Driving is a serious responsibility with physical and mental abilities impacting on the driving activities of a driver. It is more than moving a vehicle and knowing how to use the accelerator, brake pedals and steering. Driving is at best when you have knowledge and required skills to drive competently in accordance with those rules and regulations guiding the public roads.

A safe and responsible driver has responsibility which makes him a good citizen. Driving is a learned skill acquired with much practice. It is also more important to drive with due regards for safety and convenience of other road users. Driving entails concentration, calmness, and with consideration and respect for others. And at the same time, a driver should ensure proper and total control of his vehicle at all times. That means a driver must not allow anything to take their attention from the road, therefore good anticipation and concentration will help to prevent these usual incident becoming accidents on our roads. The safety of others depends on you when you are on the wheel.

A translated version of Dr. Costello Garang Riiny’s interview.

A leader from the Peoples’ Movement (SPLM/A), Dr. Costello Garang, in an honest interview for “Al-Intibaha”, Published on Thursday, January 20, 2016, 13:50. Interview – Hadiyah Ali

Dr. Costello Garang with Paulino Matip in Leer, 1993

Part One

January 24, 2016 (SSB)  —-  Dr. Costello Garang, one of the most prominent ambassadors of the Peoples’ Movement (Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement: SPLM/A) and (previous) Advisor to the President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, has demanded that Salva resigns from his post. Costello Garang clarified by saying that the time has come for him to quit, stating that the Peoples’ Movement has failed in governing the South, and cited the random killings and the unprecedented exodus to the North, which is more than what was happening when the country was united. He went on to say that the agreement between Machar and Salva Kiir will not end the crisis in the South, since it is inherently tied to their presence, and asked to allow room for the Southerners to present their choices and for the international community to help the Southerners make a change. He also said that Sudan, with strong support from Western Countries, has to play an important role in helping the South. Al-Intibaha sat down with Costello and asked him about the many issues that matter to the public in South Sudan and in Sudan. Let us then read the interview together.
