Thank God , the pro-rebel journalist never report the phrase “Former Goverment”

February 11, 2016 (SSB)  —  The Journalists are ought to be fair, accurate and objective in reporting news but some journalists in South Sudan do not uphold this principle. It has been a wishful thinking for the some anti-Government media houses that the Government is overthrown by rebels and they break the saddest news.

Before 2013, some anti –government media houses have been inciting the public to rise up against the state by writing or reporting what is negative about the government and skipping good thing the government is doing. Indeed, on December 15, 2013 what they were advocating for occurred.

From the available evidence of the crisis, some pro-rebel journalists drew a conclusion that the fall of the government is eminent, and they prepare themselves to announce it. They have been in fever of breaking the news of the government fall since then. Thank God, some pro-rebel journalists never report their long-awaited, golden phrase “’Former Government ‘’.

The Government never fall, therefore , the pro-rebel media houses are deprived of reporting the following phrases ‘’ former president’’, ‘’former army’’, “former minister’’ and the’’ former everything etc ….’’. After this lesson of illusions, the journalists will move away from wishful thinking to fairness, accuracy and balance in the reporting the news. Journalists should abandon the subjective reporting of the news to objective reporting.

Otherwise, no informed citizen will trust the journalists.
