February 22, 2016 (SSB)  —-  We cannot turn the nation which shed our bloods for so many years upside down for materials, and money as a gain toward happiness, it is a total mess and a terrible shame on us in the history because history tells the past, present and the future. Most of the people in South Sudan have lost spirit of nationalism, people don’t care, majority of the South Sudanese are corrupted, they have no South Sudan in their hearts, and they have bought buildings outside country.

They have invested in none-public profit, their children are schooling outside country, they deposited their money in foreign banks, they don’t prioritizes plans for the nation, they just do things abruptly like an awakening person from the flame of fire, the vision and objectives are all the time how to becomes rich, the strategy of how to loot public wealth is the golden opportunity of why many officials always quarreling to take offices in South Sudan.

Dr. John Garang said, “he never found peoples’ servant when he decried during struggle about who will distribute resources to people equally, likewise President Salva Kiir Mayardit never ever find civil servants who will distribute resources to people as he made reshuffles after reshuffles to get right people who may shoulder responsibilities and duties on behalf of South Sudanese people, and I think maybe he got three or five people who may do things for us  but enough is enough, the nation needs unity than happiness gain from the materials, materials are temporary and  not realistic but legacy reigns forever. Truly speaking we need unity now, and by all costs.

Unity is an ultimate honors for individual difference or communities seek to make strong social classes of people in togetherness and inclusiveness, tolerance, acceptance, and condition of being one, totality, and state of harmony among societies, while happiness is controlled by materials, wealth and money. Happiness is an emotion but emotion is always drives by sadness, love, hate, curiosity, contentment, depression, revulsion, anxiety, excitement, jealousy, guilty, fear and anger.

I am sure South Sudan is not far away from the site of such happiness where everybody wants to make enough money to him/herself and become rich. You have seen how two words unity and happiness made different impacts into Societies and why unity is much important than happiness in this nation because unity does not deny diversity, its incorporate potentiality of diversities and a nation can gains wonders in “ one people, and one nation” South Sudan.

1 Peter 3:8 Said, “Finally, all of you have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind”.  Unity is a spiritual philosophy based on the teachings of Jesus, stating that humanity is inseparable from the Spirit of God within, and that through prayerful realization of the Spirit, one may obtain healing in mind, body and affairs. Unity has been described as practical Christianity. There is no rejection in unity. A body is composed of different parts but one body, no specific demands of total ownership from one part in absent of others as all have function, all have ability, all have role to play, all have to help the other, all have to do, and don’t.

The same with the unity, we have to know it that unity recognizes the role of others, and that it is an important key note in South Sudan affairs than happiness. I don’t deny happiness but it can come when unity is adapted by the people of South Sudan. We cannot become a happy nation when we kill ourselves, we cannot become a happy nation when we don’t respect and honor essences of humanity and we cannot become a happy nation when we never reach at the meeting point of unity.

Unity combines, and happiness disperse! But we want unity because these days, people are much interested in happiness than unity. We have seen how corrupt we are! We have developed egoism or self-centre mechanism, ways of one making him/herself rich with little money aside for the same idea of richness. We are actually learning-masters after self-happiness by looting our own resources/materials because some fellow South Sudanese want to becomes rich in a half decade, a dream of family destruction which had made the nation vulnerable in economic and other social welfare.

This is what I called grabbing dysfunctional behaviors or subjectively a define what designs for a rare individual’s of uncommonness because happiness for richness has to do with few South Sudanese goals of first class citizen against third class though we have not yet statistically categorized citizens data base for social data base depending on socioeconomic status, social stratification, social inequality, upper class, upper-middle class, middle class, white collar, lower middle class (working class), blue collar, working poor class, and underclass, or a total rejection of disowning fellow South Sudanese rights social democratic society but unity of the people is a common goal every citizen should work for it  in entire country.

The notion of having South Sudan flag flying day and night in the heart of the nation is a symbol of national unity and potentially never portrays a divided nation, a nation where societies are belonging to regional bases without segregation and denial of national realities.  What does it means? Its means unity of tribes is a great asset of individual and original ancestral places in the country, like 28 states never divided people but commissioned societies to work for common social development.

We have to make a sense of our flag flying all over government and private buildings a unique path of having rights which were been denied by Khartoum for four decades, but being achieved in July 2011, when South Sudan got its independence even rebels groups never have ways to deviated away from the symbol of unity of our flag.

Shortly after formation of a Transitional Government of National Unity (TGNU) later in accordance to Peace implementation, and final resolution of conflict in South Sudan, ministers should take what are necessary for promoting the virtue idea of having flag, a symbol of unity in South Sudan.  We are supposed to look after unity than happiness, because unity drives happiness and our brothers somewhere, somehow are seeking happiness with the intention of owning what they never saw, a breast of curse if those who want to get riches did not listen to people’s cry. We will never become happy country when we don’t stand together and pursue unity then happiness.

Traditionally, we also need to learn a symbol of unity from an old man who called his ten sons (10) long ago in the village when he saw his sons were grown up to adults’ stage. He ordered them that let every person come along with his stick. After sons came to their father house, the father said, come here, and break this one stick, and they broke it. Again he said, tied ten sticks and break them once again all of you, but they failed to broke those sticks, then he said, if you are together like these sticks, nobody will attempt to defeated you, but if one thinks he can do his own things without others, he may be defeated as you broke one stick.

The father was trying to let his sons understand symbol of unity and togetherness. That is why being united is more value than lifelessness or separate body. We are the strongest society (South Sudan) in the world because of our different diversities. Our sixty four tribes comprised that true history of ten sons of a man and his teaching methodology. If any tribe thinks it can do things without others, it will be defeated, but it is better we work together, and we will never be attempt to fact of dismay.

In conclusion, “anyiiel kaa rou, a weer azang tok”, two are better than one, because they have good reward for their labor. The Bible speaks in many verses about unity. In Phil 2:2 “complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind”, Col 3:24, narrated “and above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony”. Unity is a mother of peace. People who are united cannot attempt to harm one another.

They fear hurting each other, and for this reason, people may maintain unity in peace. Eph 4:3 Said “Eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace”. Therefore, do  many people walk in unity together unless they have agree,  and South Sudanese communities will not walk together in unity unless they have come back to their sense of  unity. Amos 3:3 reads, “Do two walk together, unless they have agreed to meet” and the unity of South Sudan should come out from our hearts.
