The Oyeeeeee Gov’t: Jack of all trades, master of none.

war

March 5, 2016 (SSB)  —-  A cold weather can be felt by the entire area unlike hunger ~ Dinka proverb. Today there is no more SPLM, SPLM-IO, SPLM-DC, FDC, NCP’s Oyeeeee in public gatherings or rallies. This economic crisis has brought the Poor Innocent Victims (PIV) and Very Important Person (VIP) to their knees.   We had been driven by illusion or magic in the past but today the devaluation of South Sudan Currency has shaped each and every individual to read between the lines.

South Sudanese are drowning in the sea because some heavy weighted masses are knotted around their legs. Just imagine yourself under water with 1 ton (1 000kg) tied to your legs. How will you take a breath?

The poor rural population is trapped by this economic decay but remember even a cat can start fighting back when cornered. The cats (armed forces) receiving little salary (about 680 SSP per month) which cannot even buy 50 kg of maize flour will one day pull out their claws and start scratching the back of our Boss (es).

The Oyeeee Government is like a boat sailing in the ocean without compass. Our boat has lost direction. We are just following the direction of wind. We are jack of all trades and master of none.  Why do we always say Oyeeeeee even to deceptive decisions taken by our leaders?

  • When government shut down oil production in 2013 without reserve money, we raised our arms …………..SPLM Oyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
  • When fake coup was imposed on people by the government, we raised our arms …………..SPLA Oyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
  • When the army was ordered to discipline the rebels, we raised our arms …………..SPLA Oyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
  • When 28 States were created by government without budget to run the States, we raised our arms ……..SPLM Oyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
  • When taxes were increased at the border by the government with the aiming of making more money to pay their employees, we raised our arms ……..SPLM Oyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
  • Finally when South Sudan was admitted to East African Criminals (or Community), we raised our arms ……..SPLM Oyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Our politicians should have been frank to EAC by telling them that SOUTH SUDAN IS ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL. WE ARE WAITING FOR HER DEATH! I am sure EAC can understand our position.

We better stop this slogan of saying Oyeeeeeeee to anything our leaders propose. Otherwise this Oyeeeeee will hang us one day.

Have a nice weekend and remember the following:

1)      Drive carefully because everybody has been robbed by economic meltdown. Read the story of a woman who caused traffic jam: a woman suddenly stopped in the middle of the road at Madiriya roundabout and started counting her fingers for about 10 minutes.  They vehicles were blowing horns but the woman did not hear until she was pushed out by another pedestrian. So be careful when driving!

2)      Never blame a trader for high prices. Remember the same commodity is taxed at the boarder by custom office, boarder security agent, clearance agent, Central Equatoria custom, Juba Security agent, Juba municipality, Juba County, Payam, and Traffic officers asking sharaf chai (for tea). Read the story of Raksha-man (3-wheeled motorcycle) at Konyo-konyo:  a soldier form SPLA Hqrs loaded his AK-47 with bullets and went to Konyo-konyo market. He ordered the trader to load the Raksha with different food items. The trader loaded the Raksha thinking that he will be paid at the end of business. After loading, the army officer told the trader (Ethiopian) to choose between bullets on the head and letting his Raksha go. The trader escaped bullet by letting the angry and hungry soldier go without paying even 1 SSP.  So don’t blame a soldier who is begging. He is better than the one looting the markets.

3)      Never blame those who are taking their families to refugee camps in Uganda or Ethiopia. The future of this country is still unclear despite the peace signed.

4)      Never accuse your neighbour who is a poacher. Remember 1 kg of meat is 60 or 80 SSP and he might not afford buying meat. Most people in rural areas including wildlife officers are depending on bush meats.

5)      Never be angry if someone grabs food you ordered in the restaurant. He/she might have stayed for three days without food.

In conclusion, war is bad whether you attack someone or someone attacks you, the consequences of war are always devastating. This crisis is an eye opener to every South Sudanese. Everybody is now seeing clearly where the problem is. Thon aci rot lony ke yin bi col loi “if you don’t free yourself, you will remain pegged for the rest of your life ~ Dinka proverb”.
