Open letter: Tonj Youth Should Form Social Organizations
By Dut Agostino Agei, NAIROBI, Kenya
Dear all,
April 11, 2016 (SSB) —- When I and some of the Tonj youth living in Nairobi volunteered to meet with Commander Nhial Deng Nhial, the former defense, Foreign Affairs and eventually the current government Chief negotiator, he was happy to receive us. In exchanged of many pleasantries and greetings, he asked me out to extend his New Year greetings to every citizens of the newly created Tonj State in various places of living and for those who never make it to meet him. I was in position to well come his statement and promised to extend his greetings to as many youth as I can, but allow me to apologize today in case of time frame.
To begin with, Tonj youth leadership in Nairobi in various regimes since liberation years have never in many possible time come up with any formulation of anything to do with ‘ the youth leadership policy. Policy like, what can we do as youth both at home and in diaspora.A part from politics participations, have we ever questioned our positions as youth, in regards to the benefits of our future we all envisioned?
During, before and after, the commitment of today Tonj State towards the struggled of the independence both in the new Sudan and South Sudan in general was paramount right away from our political leaders, our local participations, from Bomas, Payams, Counties and emphatically the whole combination of seven counties of former Warrap State. In many times Tonj played a very vital roles to created the successful government in the people republic of South Sudan both in the regions as Bhar el gazel and even at the national label and this happened in regards to our active youth participations that ends up today as jobless, abandoned in the national scholarships, compared to other regions of newly created States within South Sudan. With that regards, allow me to mentioned several others information that affected us generally.
In history, Tonj is a very olden town with best information that our country needs every times. ‘The Dinka canon law called Ganun-wany-alel that in many times used nationally to adjudicated several cases in South Sudanese law courts both in the country and in the diaspora was first drafted in Tonj amongset several minerals that Tonj produced only to end us up in sorriest dismay. Specifically in everything at the moment Tonj is last as compared to every part of South Sudan in term of modern development, but what can we do as far as many youths leadership are concerned in various places of living in regards into what can Tonj community do, as both intellects, citizens leaders, concern groups, students and every body who love Tonj.
In personal response at Youth leadership in Nairobi, section. I come up with several proposals like should we get united as Tonj youth members, our contributions toward the development can do much us as much compared to what the State government can do.On top of the list, we needs get, united under various youth leadership regime, both in Nairobi, Kampala, Juba, Canada, Australia, America, and everywhere that Tonj youth leadership existed and that included originally in Tonj town home. This is in’ illustration that for us to achieve any objective, ‘Unity is Key.’ We needs not to dwell over what the State government can do’ but lets us see the other sections over what can we do too, to better ourselves.
I would rather love Tonj to be one of the single State where youths are patriotic enough to make sure that whatever the do today should get us assurance that immediately after those in authority it is them ’after. This is by standing up collectively to condemn any instability in our counties borders that are seriously affected by the security, made of the recent escalation of fights in Tonj East between Jalwau/Luackoth, The ongoing fighting in Tonj South County between Thony and Apuk among other areas of Low Ariik and Lon Paher that was recently reported. In case of communal fights, it our responsibility as youth to cited best example of peace.Enough is enough dear all’ we need permanent stability in our areas that Tonj is proud off since.
In regards to our unity as Tonj youth, Commander Nhial Deng Nhial promised the construction of Tonj Base Centre that is going to be well equipped with the fastest internet, modern computers, Chairs, running water. In regards to it headquarter, it is going to be decides by all youth leadership of the newly created Tonj States. The benefits of the above mentioned proposals is to help in promoting youth interactions based on togetherness , the absolute consultation on how to created the benefit of togetherness and our position too as youth.
Long live Tonj State youth Leadership.
Long live the incomplete work of late William Deng Nhial.
Long live the vision of SPLM in TONJ town.
