Governor Philip Aguer Panyang said that a final approval from the Council of States will determine the number of Counties.
“You cannot have more Counties as much as you want in terms of administrative unit. Because how can you have new administrative units that you cannot afford to finance,” said Governor Aguer Panyang. “The more you have more Commissioners, the more you will be complaining that you have no budget, you have no vehicles, you have no houses, no offices,” Aguer said.
Meanwhile, residents of Jonglei State are demanding for more Counties by dividing the recent Counties into four new Counties. The members of Bor County are demanding for their County to be divided into three Counties, Twic East be divided in to two and Duk into two Counties as well.
