Other four passengers remained in good condition after the commissioners of Terekeka and Gemeza rushed to the area after being informed by Bor County Commissioner.

“They took the body and the four survivors to the county headquarters, Bor County commissioner Hon. Isaac Mamer Ruk told the Dawn newspaper on Tuesday.

The relative of the deceased agreed that the body be buried in Terekeka and the survivors be taken to Jonglei state coordination office in Juba.

There were six passengers on board 4 male and female. The boat was later looted because the engine got damage during the crossfire. Nobody claimed the responsibility and no one has been arrested at the moment in connection to the incident by Terekeka authorities.

Last month, the Commissioner of Bor County Hon. Isaac Mamer Ruk accused the Mundari youth of failing to implement the order of the president of repatriating all the cattle camps in Equatoria region to Jonglei state. 8 motor boats were hijacked between Mangalla and Gutachol and dozen were killed including children on board.

Commissioner Mamer traveled to Terekeka state to negotiate unconditional movement of cattle and people from the region to Jonglei state. No one was arrested in connection with the attack. The Youth were confined in the boats so none return fire when opened fire upon.

The situation is deteriorating at the moment commissioner Mamer said, since the boats and the wounded are confined at the western part of the Nile where they cannot either return to the cattle camps or sail to Bor.

State and county authorities have always reaffirmed their commitment to bring culprits to book.

A technical committee headed by Jonglei state advisor to the governor on political affairs Dr. Agot Alier Leek was sent to access the situation of cattle keepers in central Equatoria to enlighten the youth to put the order of the president into action. About 49 cattle camps have arrived in Bor and 9 others remain behind.

Serious fight broke out between the Mundari and Dinka youth in 2012, many people were killed and thousands of cattle looted.

Two youth leaders who attacked the 8 boats last month and killed several people await trial in court. The authorities of Terekeka state are investigating to find out the people behind the scene.

There is land dispute between the Bari and Mundari people. Mangalla County is being contested by both communities. Jonglei state authorities released an order banning the travel by road without police escort.

Last year 8 people were killed in Mangalla County. Their bodies were recovered along the Nile. Several people have been killed along the Nile as well as on the road between Mangalla and Terekeka trying to find their way to South Sudan capital Juba.
