CID recovered stolen Radio Jonglei FM radio equipment

May 17, 2016 (SSB) — The Criminals Investigation Department-Jonglei state (CID) recovered stolen Radio Jonglei stolen equipment on Thursday.
On Wednesday, groups of armed gang break into Radio Jonglei compound and steal desktop computers, two laptops, 10 plastic chairs, a camera, recorder, and 2 mini speakers.
The armed gangs were identified as Chol Ajang Atem, Akec Abdun and Mayen Manyok Mayen who were sent to imprisonment for five years each.
The incident was immensely blamed on the staff that left two doors open on the day of theft.
Mr. Ayuen Deng is the Inspector for economic and crime in the Jonglei state criminal investigation department (CID). He said, their unit immediately deployed personnel after they receive the information from the Radio authorities.
“Yesterday, we successfully apprehended one of the criminals who showed as hide out and they criminals are still under the investigation Deng says,” Ayuen said.
The CID urges the community to collectively work with the police in an effort to fight high rate of crimes in the state. Last week, gangs whose one member was arrested stormed CID premises.
It is not the fifth time that such incidents occur. In 2012, gangs of thieves broke into premises of Radio Jonglei and went away with 4 computers and five phones. In 2013, group of armed robbers broke into the Station and held chief editor at gun point and looted all the radio equipment.
