Jonglei state governor visits IDPs in Mingkaman

May 17, 2016 (SSB) — The governor of Jonglei state H.E. Philip Aguer Panyang pays visit to internally displaced people in Mingkaman of Awerial County on Friday.

The governor’s objective was part of the plan to visit the people of Jonglei state wherever they are including all the payams and access the condition of IDP and appreciate the hospitality of the people of Awerial county and humanitarian community.

In an exclusive interview with the governor on Sunday, Philip revealed that he also share the news of the formation of transitional government of national unity that include Riek Machar as first Vice president.

He said the state authority will not order for IDPs return to Jonglei state because there are issues of insecurity being practiced by the forces of Dr. Riek Machar who got separated between Uror, Nyirol and Pibor.

We lack medicines at payams and state headquarters level

“The IDPs seem to be comfortable though they were complaining that the food has reduced,” Governor Philip told the PaanLuel Wël (SSB) Media.

Aguer added that when the UN sees that the factors that led to displacement have reduced, then UN also reduces the food ratio because there are many regions that need emergency assistant across Africa.

We inform the government of Eastern lakes not to allow our cattle to cross to the area and we are even encouraging those keeping cattle to return home immediately,” Aguer said in response to the civilian disarmament that will take place in Eastern lake state.
