Telecommunication to resume in Fangak state

May 24, 2016 (SSB) — The minister for information, youth and sport culture and heritage in Fangak state government Hon. James Lony Kang has affirmed to the PaanLuel Wël website that telecommunication companies will resume their operation this week in the state.
The telecommunication towers for MTN and Zain networks were destroyed in 2013 crisis when the war erupted in Juba and escalated to Jonglei state causing massive destruction to public infrastructure including networks.
Communication with individuals not on government mission on Thuraya in Jonglei state and Fangak without approval from the national security service is prohibited.
Speaking on Phone, in an exclusive interview with PaanLuel Wël website, the minister said after a closed door meeting with the ministry of telecommunication and postal service, a team of expert has been sent to the field to assess the damages incurred during the war for four days. Something he said will be fixed in a short period of time.
He said the state headquarters of Ayod is secure as the SPLA gallant forces have been deployed across the area.
