Anti-peace campaigners at Emmanuel Jieng Parish were politically motivated by elites
Campaign against anti-peace protesters who are blatantly blindfold by the government elites to act in unlawful manners
By Ngor Jameson Panchol, Juba, South Sudan
May 31, 2016 (SSB) — May 29, 2016 a group of anti- peace protested over the coming of Dr. Riek Machar the chairman of SPLM-IO and first vice president of RSS, to the Emmanuel parish last week but one, and I this group was headed by Mading Ngor. Allow me to details this young man, who cause nasty and chaotic atmosphere today in the church, Mading is national picture who is known for been journalist and he was built up by Nuer guy in Canada who is an IO now, he worked with media houses and initiated a lot of programs like “inside south Sudan on SSTV OR SSBC “, Wake up juba wake up program on eye radio and he was also BBC correspondent.
I strongly condemn their move of protesting inside house of the lord with portraits of late generals that where killed in combat serving their role. With such a barbaric act committed by the group should be treated as an individuals and government sycophants who are supporting this unethical manner of inciting general congregation to support useless demonstration that is harmful to the church itself and Jieng communities and especially greater Bor people who pray at Emmanuel parish in large number. Resistance of the church members not to allow these young men and that was good moved and appreciable, since congregations condemn the misconduct did by the group hence let to the resignation of pastor in church due inappropriate manners by the protesters.
Irresponsible decision by unprofessional journalist, who ended his career today due to his manners, is a good example to the rest who are anti- peace and big thanks special security for their urgent arrest after the chaotic erupted in church because people where not supporting such a useless decision.
Negligence and reckless of Mading group to sabotage peace and reconciliation intentionally aided by some government officials who are anti-Riek Machar Teny as a person and the influenced of the poor men to act on their behave since poverty is contributing factor for all evils things. I wanted Mading to resign from been journalist to pastoralist since he had violated the following in the ethics of journalism.
Truth and Accuracy: Journalists cannot always guarantee ‘truth’, but getting the facts right is the cardinal principle of journalism. We should always strive for accuracy, give all the relevant facts we have and ensure that they have been checked. When we cannot corroborate information we should say so.
Independence: Journalists must be independent voices; we should not act, formally or informally, on behalf of special interests whether political, corporate or cultural. We should declare to our editors – or the audience – any of our political affiliations, financial arrangements or other personal information that might constitute a conflict of interest.
Fairness and Impartiality: Most stories have at least two sides. While there is no obligation to present every side in every piece, stories should be balanced and add context. Objectivity is not always possible, and may not always be desirable (in the face for example of brutality or inhumanity), but impartial reporting builds trust and confidence.
Humanity: Journalists should do no harm. What we publish or broadcast may be hurtful, but we should be aware of the impact of our words and images on the lives of others.
Accountability: A sure sign of professionalism and responsible journalism is the ability to hold ourselves accountable. When we commit errors we must correct them and our expressions of regret must be sincere not cynical. We listen to the concerns of our audience. We may not change what readers write or say but we will always provide remedies when we are unfair.
Mading and the group were acting contrary with the people’s need and the Greater Bor community condemned the misconduct and call for people of south Sudan to support peace, healing and reconciliation process, say by community elders yesterday and else those war mongers might not stand with people’s interest. It was chocking and annoying to everybody that attended the service yesterday.
Conservative of my people should end and embark peace which an alternative to the people of this country then inciting the war that will also kill those that were born aftermath of 2013 since mutiny was exaggerated by propaganda of 1991 and hence it repercussions were native results after thousands of innocent civilians were massacred.
Therefore we should learn from the past since they believed history keep repeating itself, and it’s true, it had happened several times. I belief it’s our calling we this young generation to preach the idea of peace in all over South Sudan in order to deal with socioeconomic and building strong institutions for betterment of this country than those myopia policies that are egregious.
