Philip Aguer refutes allegations of revoking appointment of members of commission

June 18, 2016 (SSB) — The Governor of Jonglei state Col. Philip Aguer Panyang Jot has refuted the allegations that he revoked Thursday the appointment of Mr. John Wuoi Chuit and Agok Manyang Agok of Jonglei state Employees and Investment commissions respectively.

In an exclusive interview with PaanLuel Wël (SSB), the governor said the commission members declined to take up the job. He said he receive the phone call from both of them asking him to replace them with people who can pick-up the job.

“I did not revoke the appointment of two members of commissions the two members of the commission declined and they gave their apology, they are supporting the government. They are busy doing other businesses and they advise me to appoint people who will be ready to pick up the job and this is what I have done,” Governor Aguer told the PaanLuel Wël (SSB).

In the state decree no: 11/2016 issued on Wednesday June, 8th, 2016 came into force upon its signature same day by the governor of Jonglei state, Aguer exercised the powers conferred upon him by the republican order No. 36/2015 and No. 126/2015 for the creation of 28th new states in the Republic of South Sudan replacing the former defunct states and for the appointment of 28th governors to the newly created states respectively to relieve the appointment of John Wuoi Chuit and Agok Manyang Agok.
