"We the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, with so little, for so long, we are now qualified to do anything, with nothing" By Konstantin Josef Jireček, a Czech historian, diplomat and slavist.

The lost Norms

By Alith Ayuen Kelei

Gone is the expertise

When the whales swallow octopuses

When they fight, the tadpoles suffers

They have since ceaselessly continued

Continuously they have christened

Themselves the Caesars of their own sea.

Gone is the integrity

When school papers no longer speak

On one’s behalf before the interviews

Offices are now rest homes

Time slated for work is evolved into Raaha

Who is your father they must always ask

Or else who must have sent you to me.

Gone is the professionalism

Tethered is the knowledgeable in the field

Disadvantaged by the so-called seniors

Technicality is offered to the uninformed

Letters of credit, the channels of funds

Dispatched by the few hands.

The obvious ones who own all for themselves.
