June 19, 2016 (SSB) — South Sudan’s Government of Jonglei State has appreciated the loyalty and patience of state civil servants for not striking despite the 3 months salary having not been paid.
The civil servants of Jonglei state various institution have never stroked over salary except the staff of Dr. John Garang Memorial University of Science and technology who strike last week and promise to keep the university doors close for the rest of the months until the conditions are met. Juba, Bahr el Ghazel, Upper Nile, John Garang, and Rumbek Universities are among the higher education institutions participating in the strike.
“I thank you all for being loyal to your government despite the fact that you have not been paid for the last three months, Jonglei State Deputy governor Gen. Peter Wal Athieu Madol told the gathering at Constitutional Square.
