King Paul Malong Awan

July 13, 2016 (SSB) — Get out of your hole, be safe. Move at will. Juba is safe, declared Paul Malong Awan. Do not kill the civilians, do not loot them. If you are caught doing that you will be arrested and if you resist the arrest you will be shot. Again, Paul roared.

Return to your barracks. Waste no time, do it now. Awan ordered the Sudan People’s Liberation Army. All these were during the skirmishes of the last five days when Juba caught cold from the damaging action of the SPLA in opposition.

From the early stages of their massive disingenuousness, the IO troops created skirmishes almost widely across the country. They killed innocent people in Raja, Wau, Torit, Yambio and anywhere else before they could then bring the mother war to Juba.

They resolved to cuddle their mobsteric mindset closer to realisation, this is what made them come to Juba with hopes of Dinka extermination.

In essence, the agenda of the so-called IOs and FDs isn’t of any benefit to anyone. The two fronts are movements of disgruntled kleptocrats that were/are ready to consume the nation. Their agenda is obvious. They want everyone dead. They are mobsters. They love blood spillage. They are comfortable with chaotic South Sudan.

In advancement of their agenda, many are campaigning in the USA, UK and elsewhere that South Sudan should be put under trusteeship of the foreign powers. That is an immediate sellout from those that think they are brilliant and could be the immediate replacement of the current leadership. Nay.

That shall not happen, the results of such campaigns shall be very futile. Nobody will ever become South Sudan’s President without South Sudanese permission.

However and despite handling the situation with kids’ gloves, a lot of negative comments have been directed at the Army Chief of Staff. Extensively, many international writers such as James Copnall and many others have casted their lots with negative portrayal of the powerful man. They called him brutal, brainless and all those bad names.

Of recent, Gen. Paul Malong has defied all those libels by rising higher as a protector of all the South Sudanese regardless of genealogy and political sect.

Although Malong was described as a man creating confusion in the country, it could be stated that the description is falling short of what Malong had been in his current post. In fact, when Riek forces were brutalising people in J1, he felt betrayed by the IO elements referred to as anti-peace and instead he acted with respect, obeying the President when asked together with his top commanders to protect Riek. He did that with no objection.

Some quarters have in length described him as unruly commander who is operating at his own will in disrespect of the President. Nay. The truth is, Malong is loyal and calm. He isn’t brutal, he is soft, friendly and meek. It is in the mind of his haters that he could be referred to as sordid.

With all the negativism broadcasted about him, Gen. PAUL MALONG AWAN has desired to save lives of innocent victims. He resolutely mentioned that citizens’ protection is part and parcel of national sovereignty and territorial integrity and should be effected at any cost.

He has refused to go low and pursue the turncoats. He has an agenda. Leading the army that is discipline and goal oriented is what he aspires for. Wherever the dissidents from IO could wreak havoc, he would rebuke them not to do that in a manner so cool and friendly that Gen. James Koang and Gen. Gatwech Dual could all accept and even attest to it.

Despite this coolness and the fact that South Sudanese hate strong people, Gen. Malong is each day becoming a victim. He has many times been reflected as a very bitter murder of Nuer. That sounds great to those who think so and that has been a leverage that they are using to create an international dim image for a man many people view as the champion of the victims.

The ferocity with which IOs have been advancing their war agenda could be well described by their shameless penetration to the Republican Palace. It had on many counts been alleged that Gatwich Dual wanted President Kiir’s head. He wanted Malong’s head. He wanted Wani Igga’s. All these have been responded by they trio in question with simple brotherly smile.

This man is not a coward but he had decided to attune low by not showing his bravery with brutality against his own people. He had been brutal against Arabs so that freedom could be eventually attained just like all South Sudanese did. Branding him for a past necessary event isn’t short of betrayal.

Selling him to the higher bidders, international community included would not be working because tricks made to victimise him would only be experienced by the planners. This formidable champion is going to be there to protect South Sudanese from all harms, be they local or international harms.

Your prayers that the white man takes our country shall fail. Hopes and wishes vested in the deaths of South Sudan’s leaders shall fail as well. However, I don’t fall short of liking the indomitable stature of Gen. Paul Malong. A man of his caliber, one GIANT with steely resolved, indomitability and formidability is not a brand to give off just because of communal hatred.

Lead your forces Gen. Paul Malong and remember doom’s prophets will fail with their wishes. Protect the innocent civilians.  Political echoes shouldn’t deter you from progress. It is all but a national duty. Although hope isn’t with the government, the Mighty SPLA shall always remain the outlet. The naysayers, mines or Malong’s do not edit my article, write yours. I hope this serves the day. Till then yours truly, Mr. Teetotaler!
