South Sudan: We have been programmed to fight one another

unity of nuer and dinka

August 8, 2016 (SSB) — Behind firmly closed doors, South Sudan independence, where economics activities are directed toward National interest, was seen as a threat. A threat to whom? Well, in this World, in case you don’t know, there are wolves; the Multinational corporations. These Corporations are the proponents of globalisation. They are the ones which run the affairs of the most powerful countries. Their interests are not about people or humanity but profits.

Therefore, the presumption with the so-called friends of South Sudan was that an independent South Sudan was to be used as an open market. A market where its resources would be extracted and used for the interest of the Corporations. Such a plan, in my view, killed John Garang! The wolves knew that John would have been a hard nut to crack. However, President Kiir Mayardit has become another hard head leader. So, in their views, President Kiir must be unseated or kill because his government has rejected the plan. This is the reason why South Sudan was programmed into a war.

In the book, ‘Understanding Power: The Indispensable Chomsky’ (2005); edited by Peter R. Michell and John Schoeffel, Noam Chomsky revealed that “the main commitment of the United States, internationally in the Third World, must be to prevent the rise of nationalist regimes which are responsive to pressures from the masses of the population for improvement in low living standards and diversification of production; the reason is, we have to maintain a climate that is conducive to investment, and to ensure conditions which allow for adequate repatriation of profits to the West”.

The M.I.T Professor revealed that “language like this is repeated year after year in top-level U.S. planning document”. Looking at these revelations, one could not help but to agree that current South Sudan government, led by President Kiir Mayardit, has done nothing wrong to the people. The faults of President Kiir’s government are nothing other than living to the promises of the people’s struggle. By putting people’s interests ahead of all; Kiir’s government is seen as a threat to capitalists’ interest. This is the reason his government is at odd with powerful Countries.

The Wolves or the capitalists with their profit driven neoliberal agenda have, for a long time, intended to loot South Sudan.  They are steadfastly working to destroy South Sudan National government. Their covert activities bred and/or provoke tensions and crisis in the Country.

We got to a civil war in just two years of independence from the North. Because in December 2013, the ruling party – SPLM split into two rivalling factions. The rebelling faction further split into two branches; SPLM-IO and G10. The group of ten disgruntle politicians (G10) is led by Pagan Amum Okiech. Pagan’s faction has become the darlings of the Troika. The SPLM-IO, which took up arms against the government, was led by Riek Machar Teny and now by Taban Deng Gai.

Before this faction (G10 and SPLM-IO) split; they as a team sat to call for “democratisation” of the SPLM party.

It was this party politics (democratisation of SPLM) which dragged the whole Nation into war. A leading American chronicler and author William Blum once opined that “Be nice to America. Or we’ll bring democracy to your country!”  In fact, some foreigners, the usual proponents of ‘democracy’ were often quoted as saying that SPLM Party is a “monster” which must split for democracy to come to South Sudan!

So, in Dec. 2013, the Party split and we have seen the repercussions. Enormous, precious innocent lives have been lost. In all this process South Sudanese politicians, mostly the gang of G10 and SPLM-IO were privy of what was to follow a call for democratisation of the party. Their intention is in line with capitalist plan. Their intention has been to cripple South Sudan.

Looking at the recent unfolding events, particularly the unwarranted call for the United Nation intervention in South Sudan, one would not hesitate to agree that such a move is meant for implementation of the plan given that the G10 and SPLM-IO have not succeeded. The plan is being championed by the TROIKA; the USA, the UK and Norway. These three States have expressed many interests in South Sudan. They have given themselves an aphorism for being the best friends of South Sudan. Contrary to their claims, The U.S. and the U.K. have been in favour of sanctions and arm embargo against South Sudan government.

It’s clear that Troika interests contradict South Sudan’s interests. TROIKA is pursuing its own agenda while South Sudan has its own interest. Therefore the proposed foreign intervention, which is being push by the Troika and echoed by their vassals; Pagan and Majak Agoot, is not about protection of civilians nor is it about peace keeping.

Instead, it is about facilitation and implementation of Troika agenda. The agenda is to topple the government so that a vassal government that would be ran in a tune of the World Bank/IMF and foreign Corporations will be established.

On a veiled pretext of civilians protection and peace keeping; the army which is purported to intervene will work collaboratively with current UNMISS forces in South Sudan. Today, UNMISS force is over 12,000 troops. Recent proposal in Rwanda Capital, Kigali would want to add more 14, 000 foreign troops. The total number of foreign troops would be between 26, 000 – 27, 000.

Such a staggering number is meant for something sinister. Their real functions and mission is to establish an imperial state. A State where its leadership would always bend down to appease foreign interests. Such a mission is only achievable when current South Sudan’s government is toppled.

In the past century, Europeans were all over the World on a pretext of missionary works. Some were on false claims for spreading of civilisation. But the disguised mission later transpired to be conquering, colonisation and looting of the World. In such false missions; Africa was extremely looted. Millions of African died under European colonisation. Million others were enslaved. The Sudan in which South Sudan was an integral part was heavily affected. So, where did this notion of Troika’s goodwill on South Sudan came from?

We, South Sudanese in particular and African in general, ought to be careful or the old yokes will befall us again. When Europeans seek entry they appear to be saints but once in the rooms, their concealed motive is always sinister.

These days, in the so-called ‘THIRD WORLD’ Countries; the same very old European plundering system has been dressed up as ‘humanitarian assistance or aid’, ‘Peace keeping’ and ‘civilians protection’. But it is the old tricks. The same old racist, imperialistic thinking and behaviour is harboured deep inside the psyche. In the word of veteran

Australian film maker, and journalist, John Pilger, UN Peace Keeping is imperialist euphemism for ‘War Keeping’. After all, they say, only a fool can announce her true intentions.

So, let it be clearly stated that the intervention force, which is proposed by the UN through AU and IGAD will serve no interest of South Sudan. Rather, such a force will bring more chaos to South Sudan. History tells us that UN forces, wherever they are deployed, pushed countries to status of ‘failed state’, with creation of more crisis and more refugees. If UN and U.S are ever good at developing weak

Nations, Haiti would have been a super state. Even after over 100 years of independence and 19 years under the U.S intervention rule. Haiti is still a very poor Country. Rwanda, Somalia, DRC, Sierra Leone etc. are still fresh in minds. In fact, Rwanda genocide of 1994 happened in present of UN troops.

Like all of us, President Kiir has his own weakness but the fact is that it is only him who can stabilise the Country. His approaches have been nationalistic. So, it is South Sudanese themselves who can vote him out from office. Foreign intervention will complicate the situation and more chaos will ensue.

The most ignorant South Sudanese, who are out there with their unfounded claims that current South Sudan government is having indifferent feelings to the needs of its citizens; that there is a need for foreign intervention should know that, bad government is better than no government.

Like it had happened in Somalia and DRC; foreign intervention will destroy the little we have. So, its better we keep the bad government, which we know and own then to ask for the best government we don’t know.

We have seen former leaders, the likes of Pagan Amum Okiech, who have gone out to campaign for South Sudan to be placed under UN trusteeship. Such is a selfish act. Hon. Pagan has been programmed to an extent of forgetting that he fought successive government in Khartoum in order for South Sudan to own its affairs. His faction has assertively pushed for foreign intervention into South Sudan. Such an assertion should not be tolerated because it is going to destroy South Sudan to a level not ever seen.

Finally, I leave you with this paragraph from Robert Cooper, who was Tony Blair advisor; Cooper declared that, ‘when dealing with more old-fashioned kinds of states…we need to revert to rougher methods of an earlier age: force, pre-emptive attack, deception, whatever is necessary to deal with those who still live in the19th century world of “every state for itself”‘, hence generating ‘a new kind of imperialism…to bring order and organization’.

I think there is deception being play on us by our so-called friends. President Kiir’s government is not that bad.
