Secular Western Civilised Terrorism and Radical Islamic Barbaric Terrorism

August 16, 2016 (SSB) — Today, the world is facing two grim and major global challenges namely, climate change and international terrorism. Although there are other serious and equally grim challenges such as poverty and disease especially in Africa, the most pressing challenge on the international nerves today is terrorism. Terrorism is known to be a methodology applied by its proprietors through two differing means, one crude and the other sophisticated.

The first type of terrorism is the well-known and widely publicised crude and barbaric terrorism associated with radical Islam propagate by the likes of the Al Qaeda globally, the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Boko Haram in west Africa, Al-Shabab in Somalia, the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan and many others. All these radical Islamic organisations have designed their methods of terror to be brutal and barbaric in order to achieve their objectives. Often using individuals as suicide bombers as primary weapons.

The second type of terrorism which is applied to achieve specific objectives similar to those of radical Islamic organisations, is a form of terrorism favoured and perfected by the Western nations, specifically the United States of America and the European Union and their smaller satellites. It is a form of terrorism clothed in civilised methods but the effects, results, and the victims at the end are as many and as helpless as those of the barbaric form of terrorism.

The analogy of what I want to say can be gleaned from a situation where for instance two criminals have been convicted of murder and sentenced to death by competent courts say, in the US and Saudi Arabia. The method of carrying out the sentences in the two countries is different. In the US they use either an electric chair or administer a cocktail of lethal medication by injection to kill the criminal. This cruel form of execution is considered to be humane and civilised manner of killing. This is a civilised and refined barbarism but still barbarism. On the other hand, the execution of such convicted murderer in Saudi Arabia is by beheading the criminal with a sword. This method is considered a crueller and a cruder form to kill a criminal. It is considered uncivilised and crude barbarism but still barbarism. Hence there is a civilised versa crude or barbaric method of achieving the same objective, that is, the criminal must die! So let us examine terrorism in its two forms, the barbaric and the civilised that both achieve similar results.

Firstly, what is terrorism? Academically, there is no standard definition of terrorism. However, most definitions state that terrorism involves: “use of violence and intimidation to achieve political, religious or ideological aims”. Importantly, it has been defined in the 2004 United Nations Secretary General report on terrorism, as any act “intended to cause death or serious bodily harm to civilians or non-combatants with the purpose of intimidating a population or compelling a government or an international organisation to do or abstain from doing any act”.

Dr John Perdikari also has the following to say about terrorism in his book ‘Physical security and environmental protection’ (page 119). He writes that “terrorism is a form of asymmetric warfare, and is more common when direct conventional warfare will not be effective because forces vary greatly in power”. He also states that “the context in which terrorist tactics are used is often a large-scale, unresolved political conflict.” “The type of conflict varies widely and some historical examples include:

Imposition of a particular form of government

Economic deprivation of a population

Opposition to a domestic government or occupying army”

Now let us look into each type of these two methods used to implement terrorist plans and the objectives of both sides. The radical Islamic organisations with barbaric methods of terrorism and the secular Western nations with civilised methods of terrorism.

(1) The radical Islamic terrorism is known for its uses of methods to achieve direct mass casualties among civilians as well as military personnel and to destroy property and infrastructure using all possible means and to instil fear and terror in the targeted population. They use indoctrinated individuals who are conditioned to use themselves to kill people they are made to believe to be enemies of Islam. The source of the ideas of the radical Islam are said to be the Holy Quran and from the Islamic Tradition. They utilise mass media for recruitment of new members, and to garner financial support for their activities. They recruit from amongst the migrants who have fled to the West. They orient them to hate the West which is accommodating them and to exhibit their love and allegiance to their original nations and their people regardless of what type of governance is prevailing in their original nations. Their main enemies are the Western nations and other Muslims whom the radicals consider as not practising a perceived genuine Islam. Their leaders the Imams, or Mullahs and clergymen are the authority and source of teaching, radicalisation, orientation, training, planning of targets, means to be used, time, and directives for operations for individuals to implement the plans. These are all done underground wherever they operate and the Imams or Mullahs issue a Fatwa for operationalisation of plans, and when they strike it’s horrific, and devastating – utterly barbaric.

(2) The secular civilised terrorism does not use the Holy Bible as reference for ideas that justify Western terror as method of achieving designed goals. The West’s sources that are utilised to terrorise are mainly: UN Charter and related documents, Human Rights protocols, secularism, free trade, democracy, homosexuality, and any other similar codified Western values which they deemed to be as almost as sacred as the Bible or the Quran. All those sources, charters, protocols, conventions what what, are all assimilation and remoulding of the old colonial objectives of global domination and control that have been carefully and intellectually woven and sandwiched into seemingly genuine concepts that are civilised and humane.

This secular civilised form of terrorism is directed against nations and countries that were mainly occupied and colonised by the European powers in the past. The countries which are perceived by the Western powers to be thriving outside their orbit, are brought under control using the above sources. These are at hand to be quoted and legitimised through the established international bodies that are disguised to appear to be for holistic interest of humanity and welfare just like the way the objectives and mission of the radical Islamic organisations are perceived by their sponsors. Civilised terrorists, through their intelligence agencies/aid agencies, recruit leaders of some nations, give them financial aid, arm their forces and train them, and subsequently use these governments to influence, threaten or destabilise other nations in the same region. They also indoctrinate some of the citizens of the targeted nations who reside in the Western world to adopt their ideas and assimilated in to their culture and orient them to hate their original countries and their people. They are taught not to distinguish between the sovereignty of their country and the government that they dislike, which is absolutely opposite to what the radical Islamic organisations do, but leads to the same result: induced submissive loyalty of the brain-washed individual to the sponsors.

With this in mind, our country these days is under terrorists’ threat in the name of IGAD, AU, UN chatters and protocols, all under the influence pressure of the US and EU. These secular Mullahs and Imams who authored the (Fatwa) and or own the (Veto), money and might are terrorising us with, sanctions (including economic sanctions that always have catastrophic effects on civil population), military intervention (that comes with sexual abuses of as is the case in the Republic of Central Africa or spreads diseases as it was the case of cholera in Haiti) and all these in our eyes, perception and belief are just like the feeling and attitude of the people in the West when radical terrorists issue threats of that they will be attacking innocent people in the Western world. The feelings of hatred and dislike that engulfed people of Europe and all of us and that were clearly expressed against the terrorists, when France, Belgium and USA were attacked and threatened of more barbaric attacks, is similar as to what we feel towards these Western powers today.

As we read and heard from the Western media that the Republican Presidential Candidate Mr. Donald Trump, few days back, accused President Obama and his former Secretary of State and the present Democrat Presidential Candidate Mrs. Hilary Clinton to be the founders of the Islamic terrorist organisation, ISIS, which is now terrorising the whole of Middle East. I wonder whether the US and its allies are trying to create similar chaos in South Sudan by imposing on us foreign forces that Obama knows will not bring any stability to our country and its people.

My appeal is to all the members of the legislature at all levels in the Republic of South Sudan, that they should covey and disseminate to our people wherever they are residing, in towns, villages, cattle camps, fishing camps, or in the displaced camps and refuge, what Mr. Donald Trump has said about US governments. How they dismantled and disintegrated Iraq, killed Saddam Hussein, and use the diversity of people of Iraq to divide them and as a result ISIS took control of Iraq. This is also true of Libya where the Europeans and the Americans ignored resolution and plans agreed between Libya and the African Union to bring stability and peace to that country. They instead shattered Libya, brought chaos and divisions, and which in the end facilitated Al-Qaeda, ISIS and other radical Islamic terrorists to take control of the nation. We must tell our people that some Western nations led by the US want what happened in Iraq, Libya and now in the process in Syria and Yemen, to happen here in our country, but we should not succumb to these satanic plans.

In an event of foreign forces stepping foot in this country with a mandate to fight us, we must be aware and alert that the sponsors of those forces will use our diversity as a negative tool to dismantle and divide our country. A home grown solution to our problems is the ideal way forward for peace, stability, national reconciliation and unity of our country.
