SPLA calls on international community to sanction terrorists in South Sudan
By Mach Samuel Peter, Bor Jonglei State
The SPLA spokesman Brigadier General Lul Ruai Koang has called on the international community to sanction, isolate and eliminate the terrorists in the Equatoria region. Lul made the call after people who described as terrorists claimed to have captured Yei town.
“These are extreme lies meant to cause physiological pressure and instill fear among our people. Yei is not under siege as reported,” Gen. Lul Ruai writes on his face-book timeline.
The latest is attributed to what Lul described as propaganda being circulated on social media as Sudd-Terrorists had besieged Yei town, the Administrative HQS of Yei River State.
SPLA takes this opportunity to caution patriotic citizens and nationalists not to entertain lies being spread on the social media by Sudd-Terrorists- who have been terrorizing our people wherever they are in the country.
“If you could recall, different armed groups in Greater Equatoria have resorted to acts of terror characterised by attacking and setting ablaze commercial buses and trucks with pasengers on board. Targetting innocent civilians along ethnic lines on our highways, Rob at gunpoint and off late startled kidnapping/abducting senior government officials and then demand for ransom in return for release of thier victims. These listed acts qualified them to be branded as Sudd-Terrorists because they having terrorizing none other than thier own fellow citizens. On the same note, they qualify to be listed or added to the list of international terrorists,” He continued.
Let me hope the international community and human right organizations will listen to SPLA’S call for them to be sanctioned, isolated and eliminated once and for all because the propagandists who wanted to cause panic among the civil population.
