President Kiir removes two Governor in his Latest Presidential Decree

January 4, 2017 (SSB) — The president of the Republic of South Sudan H.E Salva Kiir Mayardiit has removed two governors in his latest presidential decree yesterday.

Morning Eye Radio new reads that Kiir removed the two governors, named as the governor of Gogrial state Mr. Abraham Gum Makuach and the governor of Twic state Bona Panek Bair.

“The two governors were immediately replaced by different governors, Mr. Gum Makuach was replaced by Mr. Gorgori Demitri meanwhile Mr. Bona Panek Bair was replaced by Mr. Kon Manyiel” Eye radio

Interviewed on phone today by SSB, the Presidential Press secretary Mr. Ateny Wek Ateny stated the remove of the two governors was a call by the residents from the respective states hence their requests were replied after viewing into the calls.

Ateny describes the removal of the two governors as something normal, termed it as routine and with smoothness.

Asked when they will be sworn in, Ateny said that the two governors will be sworn in as soon as possible, the coming days ahead.
