Ministry of Health in Collaboration with South Sudan HIV/AIDS Commission Organized one Day Participatory Workshop in Bor- Jonglei State

April 21, 2017 (SSB) — Jonglei State Ministry of Health in Collaboration with HIV/AIDS Commission Conduct one Day Consultative Workshops in Bor town, the workshops is aiming at the State and County level for the NSP review/Development and Dialogue for GF application. Dr Achol, the D/Chairperson for the HIV/AIDS Commission in South Sudan call upon the Citizen of South Sudan and Jonglei state in Particular to give the Generation of this time a chance to enjoy their live but should be protected such that they remain alive for the next Generation.
Dr Achol further said that, the most Dangerous place in Juba with high Population with HIV/AIDS infection is Shirkhat, and the most people who are staying in Shirkat are the people from this State of Jonglei and they think that they are save from the Disease while most of the people have contracted it from the bordering areas of Nimule, Kaya, Nadapal, Uganda, Kenya and DR Congo, Dr Achol call upon the citizen of Jonglei State through their Participants to provide theirs Sons and Daughters with Condoms such that they can be able to protect themselves from the Dangerous Disease (HIV/AIDS)
Meanwhile the State Minister of Health in the Government of Jonglei state Dr Angok Gordon Kuol highlights how the late Dr John Garang De’Mabior Established the New Sudan HIV/AIDS Commission, Angok said that the Commission was Established simply because to save life for the people of New Sudan despite the ongoing civil war in the Country by then.
New Sudan HIV/AIDS Commission was formed by John Garang and established eleven offices across South Sudan, Dr Gordon said, the commission was able to mobilized Resources for the victims of HIV/AIDS in the South during the conflict
Then after the Comprehensive Peace Agreement sign in 2005, the Compromise was reached between the Donors and the Government of South Sudan until the partners donated 28 Million USD for the HIV/AIDS commission such that the Majority of the people who are suffering from HIV/AIDS can be save and feel protects.
Gordon said that he is very happy for the Presentation from the Government side but still calling for the inclusive Participation from other people like Journalist, Traders, soldiers Drivers, Boda Boda the cattle keepers. Conclusively, Dr Angok call on the citizen to be test such that they know their status together with their partners
According to the Data Collected in Former Jonglei there are 623 people who were taking Drugs before the 2013 Crisis, Since the opening of Anti Bilateral Drugs Centre, the number of the patients who were making follow up was 541 clients but now they now where to be seen, according to the statistic, 22 pregnant mothers were found HIV/AIDS positives.
