July 30, 2017 (SSB) — We, the undersigned, represent a broad sector of the people of South Sudan in its various social, political and civic spheres. In the interest of the future of our country which, stands on the brink of collapse and disintegration. This came as a result of the policies of the military junta which crouched on our people’s peace, prosperity, and stability.

Buttressing the history of our struggle, starting with the resistance of the previous Turkish, passing through the condominium rule, the struggles of our people in which they offered a number of martyrs, bearing in mind our people also led a bitter armed struggle against the successive regimes in Khartoum.

Culminating in this shining record of cohesion and struggle by a historic vote in favor of the establishment of a State of liberty, dignity, and equality, in which it shared the rest of the free peoples of the world.

On the basis of these lofty principles and values, we announce the birth of the 30th of July movement in memory of the martyrdom of the revolutionary leader Dr. John Garang de Mabior, as an occasion to draw upon the meaning of the continuous struggle against the authoritarian tyranny that wants to tamper with the achievements and unity of our learned people, which formed a consciousness of its own and its national identity, which stands in the way of the policies of ethnic and regional division that will not lead to our weakening.

Or retreat from achieving the goals of the collective struggle in the life of dignity and the democratic future desired for by our country and its people no matter how growing the cherub.

The war imposed by the current regime on our people is the war of ambitions and the rush to power without awareness of the national responsibility towards the people that brought them to power, and the lack of basic services of health, education and clean drinking water, and the breach of the security contract along the country.

The absence of conscience and the impending collapse of the state, which did not take a step forward from the stage of the regional government inherited from the NIF after the signing of the peace agreement in 2005, where life in major cities witnessed an unprecedented deterioration in development and services.

While a new capitalist class of savage capital flourished, the worst forms of corruption and manipulation of public money began, beginning with banks and parasitic tribal banks that did not support labor relations and production, but depleted national income and oil revenues to serve a limited group of users and opportunists.

This class benefited from the alliance of generals seeking to compensate the years (forest) with a group of market progenies and unscrupulous brokers of educational and political losers after they looted and build superstitious assets in global banks as revealed by the estimates of the American Enough Project last year, this alliance, made life of our people to become unbearable.

As a result of these barbaric practices, the state coffers were emptied and the central bank collapsed, which turned into a mere grocery for their daily consumption.

Currently, after depleting the state treasury, the fat cats dropped their rides at the headquarters of the National Petroleum Company (Nile Pet), practicing the manipulation of the fuel and energy of the oil produced from the fields of the poor in Paluj and Adar, which led this sector to face the imminent collapse.

After exploitation of oil money since 2013, the oil supplier returned, as a curse on the lives of civilians. This oil money is used to buy bombs, tanks and zips offered in the market of cheap bargaining, which led them to sell oil through futures (advance payment), which our people will pay the price out of their daily living for tens and even hundreds of years to come.

The political situation in the country reached the stage of no-return with the collapse of the peace agreement signed in August 2015. The regime began its policy of escaping forward by manipulating regional positions to buy time, by launching the so called national dialogue initiative in an attempt to circumvent the international demands for restoring peace and stability through a genuine peace process.

In order to save the country from the lust of its rulers clinging to the throne of power without paying attention to the suffering of millions of displaced and destitute internally displaced persons in the United Nations camps, in the largest case of disclaiming responsibilities without prejudice or conscience.

This has created international frustration, with the possibility of the world standing beside any movement led by the street and its independent unions and living forces to spark a new dawn in our stricken country.

The philosophy of the tyranny based on the rule of the country is based on the division of our people on the basis of race and geography, in targeting, killing and treason, but this proved to be a failure throughout history. We are a unified nation will not be weakened by any Senate or tribal entity that exchanges the future of the country with power.

The tribal fighting currently taking place in the former state of Warab, District of Gogrial between the communities of Apuk and Agok is a clear evidence of the shortsightedness of this kleptocrat group. We appeal to all groups to unite and provide the energies of the faculty to overthrow the corrupt minority regime and sweep it into the dustbin of history with Hitler, Milosevic, Saddam Hussein and Qaddafi or join Charles Taylor in The Hague.

This is the learned lesson from history that we will emerge more resilient than the test of will.

Now, according to these facts, all the factors of the revolution are available to us, and all must unite

We need to exert national efforts on all fronts from trade unions, political parties, civil and community organizations, to topple the tyranny from our people’s chest, using proven and successful methods such, as the general strike, civil disobedience leading to a popular uprising which will uproot the regime.

Hence, we declare our full solidarity with the judges who are on strike for more than two months, our people should learn from the experience of the peaceful struggle of the national judges in order to recover the rights that is not given, rather teaches us the experience of the judges that the system is divided on itself and preoccupied with scenarios of safe exit from power in Entebbe, Nairobi and Addis Ababa, in its shuttle negotiations behind the closed doors.

And this will not solve the crises of the regime, which underestimated the dignity of its people and its ability to create the desired change, unaware that the fuel of the long armed struggle was the same people that are being abused on a daily basis.

Therefore, we declare the birth of a new homeland based on brotherhood, equality and justice, in which all kinds of ethnic, social, political, and economic discrimination disappears, separated by the opportunistic class that bloomed at the expense of the health of the homeland and its citizens and its daily meal, education, and security.
