Who Really Cares About the New Year 2018?

January 4, 2018 (SSB) — It’s New Year and so what? I don’t really know why night runners, club goers, aborters, bleachers, feminists, corrupt elites, the felons among many other social naïve – would, in fact, find it very easy in my village, town, city, country or even continent to be jovial and join the rest of the world in celebration.

Please, be advised that I am not here to dictate your happiness about the New Year; but does it worth it to forget that we shall still go through the same therapy of life this year? To me, it’s the same shit scheduled by fate on a different calendar. Let me ask, what’s new this time that we must celebrate in 2018?

First of all, the work timetable hasn’t favor anyone this year– schools kids opened on 2nd or 3rd in Kenya, most workers resumed work on 3rd worldwide and so on, and so forth.

On political podiums, things will remain stagnant as usual. Another full year of Donald Trump since he was installed in his office as the president of the United States of America and the most powerful leader on earth and will do less about whatever current the world is moving.

Not even the wall that he was running his mouth during his campaign would be constructed anytime soon.

African leaders doing the same thing as usual; Cabinet ministers will spend much time on parliamentary sessions while sleeping on developmental ideas and instead, work on fake proposals which are intended to benefits them or people who are closer to them.

Developmental agendas will be supported only if there is a sheer of “getting something small” for their daughters and sons or nephews and nieces.

The likes of UN, AU & IGAD still will be calling some member states by their surnames and award them for the mild of peace in their countries and pat them on the shoulder to live in harmony while what’s going on in Burundi, Somalia, Libya and South Sudan will just be discuss only over a cup of coffee in order to push time and then the stakeholders go to their king size beds and retires to sleep.

The likes of ISIS, Boko Haram, Al Shabaab and all other wings of terrorist groups won’t shy off because it’s New Year. Syria, Lebanese, Palestinians, Pakistanis, and Afghanistani won’t stop mass killings. Polygamists, homosexuals, and atheists will not stop increasing their numbers either.

Political diehards like Dr. Kizza Besigye, Raila Odinga, and Dr. Riek Machar will never stop scavenging over top offices and feel merciful for their prospect subjects who are fed what is by far worse than a manager refuse. Everyone wants equality and won’t stop until the cake is cut into equal halves in 2018.

The mutiny, the cunning games of THEM AGAINST US and vice versa will be the same. Subjects to perish the perils of accepting to inhale atmosphere infected by dirty politics and religious activities while the top fish breathes in the facilitated air they never deserved.

Inflation will continuously lash our farmers and retailers in the villages and towns because the produces will not afford world market while bulky checks are going to be issued out to the ministers to tour western countries in the name of attending global conferences to gather ideas; and when they come back, will not even afford to write a report and gazette it in the newspaper.

So folks who are jovial about New Year, what do you care most about it when you will still strain the same way like last year?

Happy New Fear, 2018.
