‘’ For 14 years I lived without a family of blood relatives in the refugee camps of Pinyudu and Kakuma I learned that if you do not have a family, you must make a family in order to survive, in John Bul Dau film, God Grew Tired of us’’
Friday, September 21, 2018 (PW) — In several occasion the republic of Ethiopia is always a South Sudan case study. The South Sudanese like for Ethiopia in general can be summaries in different ways. Across several nations that border South Sudan the republic of Ethiopia carries the greatest interest of South Sudan not only in people relations but also in history that can be dated back to the African system of socialisms and in the horn of Africa.
When there was political instability in the Sudan and in South Sudan most of the Sudanese peace agreements were convened in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. Also in history the Ethiopian relations with South Sudanese in particular happened to be a better relations and therefore two Countries influence each other culturally. In different dimensions in the bible the Sudan and Ethiopia almost have similar descriptions simply because of Nile rivers and eventually the relations like no other in Africa, politically, economically and even socially.
All these attributions created pan Africanism between South Sudan and Ethiopia across several decades during, before and after colonial rules in Africa. This was until 1948th when Ethiopians emperor Haile Selassie created shashamane settlement in western Ethiopia in answer to pan Africanism calls of back to Africa from the Caribbean Islands nations. Across western world countries the campaigns of back to Africa carry the elements of confusions of tracing negroes’ homes in Africa and this therefore made Ethiopian emperor to do interesting story in resettling Ethiopians citizens in diasporas back in Addis Ababa.
In comparative scenarios with Ethiopia as a Country the South Sudan political instability across several decades of wars disintegrated South Sudanese into different places all over the world. Currently the South Sudanese regions leads the other African Countries in migrations series outside Africa according to international organization for migrations. In addition, the Amnesty international report in statistics of 2018 recorded South Sudan nationals in huge figures all over the world. Currently there are South Sudanese Americans, Australians, Arabians, European South Sudanese and in African Countries where South Sudan citizens felt home. Similarly, with the Ethiopian case, the series of migrations outside South Sudan in daily basis would in future require Haile Selassie policy to bring back home South Sudanese communities all over the world.
This would not be a simple task simply because of involvements of different protocols and better approach to South Sudan people in different places all over the world to have everybody at home Country with a condition of Haile Selassie policy. Such a processes are not easy simply because they are accompanied by global watch on humanitarian variables that may be convenience with refugee laws to warrant the commendable living in South Sudan and should such a process never works the conditions of over stay in exiles might introduced in a comparative Jewish case all over the world.
Just like South Sudanese in exiles the Jewish customs in concentrations camp in Germany have interesting story in relations to migrations series outside South Sudan. In Germany the Israelis who were in living in urban refugee camps in Germany were once granted the citizenry rights to be German citizens. Due to their over stay some decided to resumes Israeli identity in exile by practicing Jewish traditions in Germany. This trends lives on until the emergence of Nazi leader that sentenced Jewish into mass kills in holocaust and deported survivors back to disputed Israel. Somewhere in diplomacy Jewish settlements in Israel has havocs over lands issues over where exactly did Jewish first lives before the embarked into exiles and in case of any middle east problem today both in the regions and internationals this was the effects.
In foreseeing South Sudan exiles using different cases all over the world one may realize that the future of our Country might in future carry Jewish and Rastafarian cases and that processes require strong domestics policies of South Sudan to formulate national policies that make living in South Sudan better than in overseas. As in Haile Selassie theory South Sudan nationals all over the world would in future needs our national leaderships to put in policies of making a living in South Sudan better than in exiles. This can be by stabilizing South Sudan to make living in the Country more attractive, also this can be by fostering national integrations with good peace, national developments with affordable educations and health cares all over the Country simply because populations matter in any country prosperity.
As in Ethiopia the resettlements of shashamane carry several advantages to the republics of Ethiopia. First it strengthened the national foreign policy with Caribbean Islands countries ties and secondly it uplifted the positions of Addis Ababa in the history of pan Africanism and eventually the pride of reunion of Ethiopians in their Country simply because one felt at home with people like him/her. May the leaderships of South Sudan find interesting case to study in relations to all South Sudanese all over the world using any policy. It can be anything right way from states institutions, roads networks, industrializing South Sudan, social amenities, free health cares under ever democratic principles. Just like in Addis Ababa the idea of shashamane put Ethiopia in the status of pan Africanism instead of a third world nations that not only gave economic redemptions but also it also strengthened Ethiopian foreign policy. May this a subjects of interpretations in our Country.
