Rebecca Adit-Kuarguk de Duot: A Messenger from God with a Power of Prayers

Wednesday, November 13, 2019 (PW) — We lives in the time where sensitivity to God messages is ruining people faith. May God almighty bless my memory and give me wisdom to narrate this message accurately. For my readers, this was a person life experiences during the time of Rebecca Adit-kuarguk de Duot’s church ministry from the time I was a young boy till I left my homeland in 1999.

Adindit uses to be a unique Christian in our village but no one notice her gifts till early 90s. She revealed God fearing messages across the land that where no heard before. I will be referring to her as Adit-Kuarguk as she was well known.

Adit-kuarguk de Duot currently lives in Nimule after being kick out of her ancestral home in 2013 after Murle attack in Twic know as Maar-Paliau Murle attack which took more 80 people lives. She was removed from her house by her children out of her will to Nimule. She does not accept refuge. She uses to say, “I would rather day in my house than to seek refuge. She is physically weak now but she still have great connection with God.

No one have proven powerful Prayers all over Africa and South Sudan than Adit-kuarguk Duot who fought successful Holy war with Nuer in 1998 in Twic Panyagor. It happened 2 years after I and my family return from Maridi (Angutua displace camp) to Twic East Panyagor. At that time, Adit-kuarguk and her team were swiftly burning alters of traditional gods across Twic land.

After almost finishing her work she came to Kongoor to finish with MAYOM DE KONGOOR. Thing were not easy as there was history of another lady from Ayuaal who once attempted to burn Mayom’s shrine at Pakuor near Kongoor town. You will figure out how that can be perceived between the two communities. 

She did not have any option but she decided to go into church in Panyagor for prayers. She fasted for 7 days and night insight Panyagor’s Church while praying. She was given a vision and saw a devastation coming to Twic. One day she requested a meeting with the SPLA top Commanders and inform them that she was foreseeing major eminent attack coming from north-east of Town.

She said to them that I have fought all traditional gods across the land and I saw them gathered in front of Mayom de Kongoor asking for food. She further asked the military top officers if they know what Satan eat. They did not answer. “It drink blood”, she told them. She further added that she saw a lot people laying in blood during coming devastation including some top General Commanders which she cannot identify in the vision.

For your information, it was at a time when telecommunication was limited to two-way radio only. No telephone phone, no internet, no telefax and the only two way available in town where in the NGO office, Hospital, Military Intelligence (MI) office and the general commanding SPLA officer’s office. There was no evidences whatsoever that she might have had connection with outsiders. The only mean of communication was to send a messenger on foot. She didn’t have a radio of her own so no one will not claim that she got secret messages like now a days. 

Adit-kuarguk de Duot is true believer. She is an inspiration to most Christian across South Sudan that most people believes she spoke to God during that period I mention above. She is someone I have known since birth. We uses to pray at her house every evening. She uses to carry her Bible even between houses and preaching on the go. 

She uses to have evidential changes physically and in her spiritual life. Her spiritual account was as follows.

 1. God strike in her eyes when she receive God’s messages turning her eyelashes to white and blue eyes. 

2. She uses to fast day and night for 7 days without food or water. 

3. She uses to pray standing in water for whole night without touching any mosquito sucking her blood. 

4. She uses to pray for you before she greet you when you meet her on the way or at her house or anywhere.

 5. She did not follow any denomination or church. 

6. She uses to foresee evidence-base real life events.

7. And many more scary things I cannot narrate in short statement.

She once worked hand-in-hand with Great South Sudanese Christians such as Kon Ajith, Isaiah Malek and Garang Anyieth during difficult time of spreading Gospels across South Sudan. People uses to say she might be from Zion, Seventh days or other denominations different from Episcopal Church.

She uses to preach in churches when she have message to pass regardless if there was a preacher in the church that day. She uses to deliver her messages in form of open air crusade in most of the Towns not only on Sunday or Saturday. Her ministry was very interesting and unique. 

The amazing thing with her was that she never Claim being a Prophet. She uses to say I have a message for you and she will deliver that message whether you like or not and walk away. She uses to come to deliver her messages without being requested.

She did not accept offers or collect tithe during her services. I do not know what she ate during that period. She uses to pass by our house, pray for us and left without eating. I believes she was a true messenger from God at that time. She is a living Saint.

If I was in South Sudan I would surely go to her and ask for Prayers. Any top SPLA Commander will remember that event in Panyagoor.  I believes she will read my article too by all mean the way I knew her. May God forgive us and bless our Country South Sudan.
