Tribute for Justice Majok

Monday, December 30, 2019 (PW) — On the 24th of December 2019, I learnt Justice Majok Mading was sick and had been rushed to Kenya for the so-called better treatment. Two or three hours later, I heard the genius had passed on. What a shock!
Well, globally death is construed as an inevitable phenomenon. In the same believe, the Dinka people, the ethnic community of the Late Justice Majok say “Death is inescapable.” Literally, every person is subject to death. However, Justice Majok Mading Majok’s death is so untimely and unexpected as he looked healthy in the view of ordinary people.
Justice Majok Mading Headed Legal Department in the office of the President for he had a Bachelor Degree in Laws (LLB). He was a well trained lawyer with deep knowledge and understanding of Laws. As a principle, he approached social or public matters with legal clarity. His expertise earned him the high position in presidency.
Majok Mading had traits every person would love him and find it hard to believe that he has finally left. He had clear conscience and would never be confused by the circumstances of any issue. In most cases, this character helped him to diffuse tense situation. He was also a good orator with statements loaded with substantial information and wisdom. He had a beautiful accent. Besides these, he used to spice up his conversations or speeches with admirable phrases of humour and proverbs.
Though Majok Mading was deeply civilized, he loved cultures and traditions specifically social practices which are legally approved. He would negotiate bride prices in astonishing ways. He would also attend wedding ceremonies, sang and played with the youth. In the end, he would deliver the most anticipated and guiding words.
Justice Majok was an honest and a friendly personality who fitted nicely in the society. Besides his public office, he was also the interim chairperson for Twii (Twic East) Community pending the upcoming elections.
The death of Honourable Justice Majok Mading Majok Anyang is a shock. It has blurred annual Christmas and New Year celebrations. The Christmas joy melted into tears as people mourn for the departure of a person of high integrity and a selfless Guidant.
Though Justice Majok Mading has physically left the world, he will always be remembered for his honesty, tolerance and above all his exceptional intelligence. May the Soul of Justice Majok Mading Rest In Eternal Peace!
