Thursday, March 26, 2020 (PW) — Where the Insecurity takes over the country, in towns and more so in villages; and the Nation takes no attempt to quell it. Unless the rivaling communities calm down alone as they continue to look for ammunitions and arms only to reignite later the conflicts.

Where the Major Opposition Party, which has put on the gown of hopes & reforms in the country, appoints either incompetent women and/or immediate family members in the name of power sharing and women empowerment.

Where National Emergency Committee headed by the President on Covid-19 Pandemic refused to recruit technical personnel and hopes to be effective.

Where the Prices hike in the markets and the Emergency Committee sees it as none of their business; thinking that they will act only when a case is recorded!

This is South Sudan: Where a Health Undersecretary can be asked by a journalist to explain to the public how the Covid-19 funds are being spent; and the official responded that it is not any public concern.

This is South Sudan: Where the Country’s Chief Justice and his family members refused to be tested for Covid-19 at the airport and claimed that he was not well approached as the President’s spokesperson agrees to the claim. Not knowing that the 2 are breaking the directives of the boss in the VIP room, J1.

The Country: Where the President promised at this time last year to build road between Juba and Wau but no progress up to date as the Parliamentarians’ mouths got sealed to question.

This is South Sudan: Where the Legislators’ official Salaries are not tabled and/or negotiated; and when there is a political decision that needs their approval; the executive decides to donate them some financial gifts; And when the public asks as to why? MPs will say that it is their right!

This is South Sudan: Where opposition and the govt struggled over the reduction of the number of states; and when the number of the states get reduced both parties couldn’t announce the state governments because there are more politicians to accommodate and no enough states available again!

This is South Sudan: Where a disease Covid-19 or Corona Virus becomes a global phenomenon and the country’s national minister for health still doesn’t know its correct name; Yet even the difference between World Bank and World Health Organization remains not clear!

Where we go to school for better education and hope for better employment and soon later the authorities appoint incompetents over the competent ones & when the public outcries they tell you it is not about papers, it is politics!

Where the National top person in judiciary bothers much about his personal approach at the airport but not public lives and/or the health of his citizens!

Where SPLA-IO freedom fighters don’t realize the results of their struggle at the end of the liberation and therefore, they declare to return to their former foe in anger and dismay!

This is South Sudan: Where citizens can’t be made to know how much does the President and the cabinet receive as their monthly salaries as they attend to the public offices. The public never knows that it is their right while the post holders think that the public is a big fool!

“The Court of Public Opinion” That is the South Sudan we are making!
