Saturday, May 02, 2020 (PW) — Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO), under its program of Status of Women Initiative (SWI) is officially declaring a launch of a magazine called “VOICE OF WOMEN or VOW” as a platform for amplifying the role and efforts of women in the development of our society and human growth in South Sudan.

VOW magazine will be a non-partisan, non-racial, non-religious platform for making all actions and efforts contributed by any South Sudan woman is made public. VOW magazine motto is “Making voices of women heard and count”.  VOW magazine will be issued monthly with the purpose of bringing women at their various capacities to the public attention and motivating young women to identify their role models for better future.

MR. EDMUND YAKANI BERIZILIOUS is the Executive Director of the Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO), a Juba-based South Sudanese civil society organization.

Mr. Edmund Yakani, Executive Director of CEPO, said VOW magazine will not be used for marketing any political party ideology but it will be a platform dedicated for championing performance of women at their capacities for historical records building.

VOW magazine aim at providing platform for women and girls to set narrative and their set narrative get publically polished. The first issue of VOW magazine in the month of May 2020 will be dedicated to the current women leaders in the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity.

VOW magazine will be focusing on amplifying their visions, plans of actions and strategies of making the R-ARCSS real for the benefit of South Sudanese. CEPO will be collaborating with other national actors and persons of good will to make VOW magazine real and functional for benefit of our society.

Possibly by the end of 2020, VOW Radio Station will be established in Juba and some other parts of the country. Similar process will be carry out by CEPO for the young people of South Sudan before the end of 2020.

Mr. Yakani stressed, “CEPO believes that women voices and efforts will be count in the future history of our country if their efforts are not symmetrically documented and share with the public. We have lost facts about great woman acts and efforts of the past due to lack of proper intended purpose for keeping their remarkable contribution in our modern history.”
