By Agany-Mallerher Geng Ayiei, Juba, South Sudan
Thursday, July 23, 2020 (PW) — First and for most, I would like to congratulate His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit, Chairperson of the Liberation Party (SPLM) and the President of the Republic of South Sudan for having implemented the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity with SPLM/IO, SSOA and other political parties, to end the sufferings of the civilians across the country. Congratulations!
HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT, Your tireless effort is cherished by the citizens of the Republic of South Sudan. You are the best peace loving President that South Sudan will never have in millions of years to come, you have never intended to see civilians of this nation in blood shed, though enemies of peace use it against you, God of this nation will never accept to fail your government. Your nature shows that you are God fearing leader fighting corruption and nepotism in our country.
HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT, I thank you for picking an educated man, corruption fighter, liberator, man of reforms/development, Gen. Dr. Akol Ayii Madut A.K.A Akol Ayii Machdit as a Director of South Sudan Custom services, he is the right man ever.
South Sudan is the youngest nation in the world, and as you are working for the changes of this country, you need to be appointing people like Dr. Akol Ayii Madut, so that they can be backing you up in fighting corruption and other wrong doings that cause the failure of the government.
HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT, Dr. Akol Ayii is the exact man that SSCS has never had before, he is working for the changes as you can see, South Sudan Customs Services is not like before his absence, he has a lot of plans thus needs support from your office, and those tactics will steered to the transformation of SSCS. Though enemies of progress/development defames him on social media, he will never mislay his anticipation.
HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT, As a director of SSCS, He has a slice achievements/reforms that South Sudanese people will never forget, below are just some of his achievements:
1. Increase in Revenue collection to support long term economic growth, this can generate revenue, produce new products and find new customers in several ways.
2. Opening of the One Stop Border Post (OSBP) in Nimule. To those who have knowledge about customs, that is a border facility that combines two stops for national border control processing into one and consolidates border control and functions in a shared space for existing one country as entering another. This can simplified procedures and joint processing wherever appropriate.
3. Training of customs officers in modern customs procedures in collaboration with JICA and Trademark Office-East Africa, for the deliberation of modern customs procedures in the Republic of South Sudan.
4. Introduction of the harmonized system. The commodities can pass through the customs faster, making the trade a lot smoother and time saving affairs.
5. Digitalization of customs procedures by the introduction of the single administration document (SAD). This can reduces the administrative burden and increases the standardization and harmonization of data collected on trade.
6. Expansion of customs stations by opening of new customs stations in Western Equatoria, and in borders with Sudan. ETC.
Dear South Sudanese, these are just some of his achievements that he has done, and absolutely, there are a lot of challenges facing him in his office, but as an educated visionary leader, he didn’t give up, he is working tirelessly to make sure that services are delivered accordingly. He has a lot of dreams that will change the customs through the support of your office, H. E the President.
After seeing these great achievements, I wonder how my fellow South Sudanese still criticises leaders with such triumphs. We need to appreciate people for what so ever they have achieved instead of defaming them with unfounded allegations. Why do we like defamations without proves?
Dr. Akol is a son of late chief Ayii Madut Ayii, he came from the Royal family, no need for him to inductee corruption in his tenancy. A Dinka story says “A child do what his father does”, Dr. Akol’s late father died purely without corruption accuses in his tenure, likewise to his son Gen. Dr. Akol, he has and will never attempt to bash corruption in his life just like his late father whose his goodness didn’t gone away from the memories of his people.
HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT, Gen. Dr. Akol Ayii is among the men who will never defile your government, he is working to ensure that all prerequisites are delivered according to the law just like you Mr. President. I personally urge you to cling to Dr. Akol Ayii Madut as Director of South Sudan Customs Services, kindly pay deaf hears to the haters of development and reformations.
Stay Tuned For Part Two!!!
