The message of forgiveness on Christmas festival: Request for the pardon of  Cde. Kuel Aguer Kuel

By Ater Garang Ariath, Aweil, South Sudan

Thursday, December 23, 2021 (PW) — Your Excellency, it gives me great pleasure to greet you as we embark on Christmas festival month in compliance with Coronavirus guidelines. It is necessary for me once again, as your stalwart supporter to lodge my second patriotic request for kindheartedly forgive Cde. Kuel Aguer Kuel along with others a special Christmas gift to all South Sudanese people, especially their families.

Your outstanding great personality of patience, forgiveness, faithfulness, spirituality, paragon of Peace, loving-kindness and compassion cannot be overshadowed. This message is intended to underline the importance of forgiveness in accordance with our Christian faith and values, as well as in the way we understand each other, built upon the foundation of mutual respect and solidarity.

Therefore, as a patriot, I personally dedicated this year Christmas festival month for praying, forgiveness and reconciliation as reflected in the revitalized peace agreement, which you are Prime custodian. Cde. Kuel Aguer Kuel participation in the formation of the so-called People’s Coalition for Civil Action is uncalled for and this mistake is the amount of forgiveness in comparison to others grand gross mistakes you have forgiven.

On this festival occasion, faithful and patriotic citizens, send you a message of good wishes, together with a proposed request to pardon  Cde. Kuel Aguer Kuel and allow him to celebrate Christmas with family. Nevertheless, Christmas is the most significant festival for Christians worldwide, as it Marks the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of all forgiveness.

Holistically and in great faith, I take this golden opportunity to refer your Excellency to the verses in the Bible, Isaiah 43:25, ” the Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him.” “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your father in heaven may forgive you,” Psalms 32: 1.

After all, to forgive is to show love, and love is the most important thing we can give to our fellow country citizens, friends, family, neighbours and even our strangers. Of course, we have all been in situations where we have done wrong and desire forgiveness from others, sometimes the person we need forgiveness is ourselves.

When someone does something to upsets us, it can be hard to let that go and move on, but harbouring bitter frustration or ill will toward someone else is actually just punishment for ourselves too.

“Forgiveness doesn’t necessarily mean that the person is not guilty of whatever they did to upset us, forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting, rather, forgiveness means letting go of the pain the incident is causing us.” “We forgive to give ourselves peace of mind, and I hope that one day someone will return the favour if we ever offend them.”

Albeit, holding a grudge doesn’t serve anyone supreme goodness but reap the benefits of forgiveness. Your Excellency, President Salva Kiir Mayardit, you should forgive and observe the holy days in high fashion of forgiveness and reconciliation for a brighter future of the nation. The highest qualities of the good person, whether ruler or subject, are warmheartedness, kindheartedness, charitableness and compassion, which are exhibited by you.

Filled with these qualities, one cannot harm another – no matter what the reason or the cost. No matter how dangerous the threat, one must persevere until the greatness of the good heart wins in the end.” All in all, the conclusion of this second message attributed to your patience, loving-kindness and compassion that you exercised all these long, which cannot be ruined by the action of Cde. Kuel Aguer Kuel and his accomplices.

I greatly appreciated your previous efforts to allow him access medication needed and I wish to emphasize once more the great importance of forgiveness during such festivals as Christmas.

Finally, with these patriotic sentiments, I send you my prayerful good wishes for Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year 2022. Thank you so much, as I pray for the consolidation of peace and stability in our beloved country.

Happy Christmas to you all who will read this message as our easy mode of communication to our powerful ears of the nation.
