Martyrs’ Day Message to Citizens of Twic East County, Jonglei State and South Sudan on the Commemoration of July 30th
Every year, July 30th is observed as Martyrs’ Day, which marks the death anniversary of the late Dr. John Garang de Mabior, who is popularly known as the founding Father of SPLM/SPLA, also titled the Father of the Nation and symbol of Unity in today’s South Sudan. H.E. Dr. John Garang de Mabior died in a helicopter crash on July 30th, 2005 after serving only 21 days as First Vice President of Sudan and the President of the autonomous Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS). Since that day, July 30th is named Martyrs’ Day.
I do hereby send warm wishes ahead of Martyrs’ Day as a gentle reminder to remember all the departed souls who have given their lives for the freedom of our country. They fought and they died, but they never surrendered themselves to the enemy.
The celebrations of Martyrs Day are incomplete without honouring and appreciating all the Martyrs who have brought magnificence to South Sudan. Sincere Wishes on this special day.
Warm wishes on this Martyrs’ Day to everyone. The occasion is a celebration of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and this will always inspire us to always love our country and make it proud as we salute the brave men and women of South Sudan who happily gave away their lives for the country.
I wish a very Happy Martyrs’ Day to all. July the 30th is the day that reminds us that we have been blessed with such courageous souls who protect us. Our Martyrs will keep inspiring us for years to come, and the yearly occasion of Martyrs will keep us motivated to always keep our Country first. Warm wishes on Martyrs’ Day.
As the struggle continues, it is on this occasion for future generations to appreciate and draw inspiration from martyrs’ bravery, determination, and risk-taking approach to deal with the existing challenges of social, economic, political, and climate change. This thinking ability makes sense of Martyrs’ Day.
Let us pray for our martyrs and their families, as they are the ones who give South Sudan so much strength. May the souls of martyrs rest in peace and in their admiration. May we create a nation in which they are always proud, wherever they are looking at us.
Happy Martyrs Day to everyone!!
Long Live all our Martyrs
Long Live Twic East People
Long Live South Sudan
