Friday, 16 August 2024 — The day of 13/ 8 is another gloomy Day in our history. In 1980s, he blended and groomed individuals throughout the path of our dignified struggle as he shouldered an emblem of protection and justified acceptance behind the Moulder and Roller of the liberation call.

He stood his feet firmly to protect the Icon along the chosen path without any slightest fear of duties. He tightly held his breathe into the distance to eye any mishaps and blessedly all was well until the demise of the Icon away from his usual insightful tab.

In 1990s and 2000s, he proudly casted back the lost hope into the surface evidenced by surest expression of “Bior-Asuod atou bai” that bravery trust paved the way toward a believable victory against all odds of immerse sufferings, he had many visits to the IDPs and Refugees camps in an effort to convince war victims to returned back to their homeland.

He roamed the wildest jungles and mountains with his colleagues in a dedicated mission of sharing the justifiable voice for a dignified humanity and all was handled. Having laid the ground for better landing together with his colleagues, he was part of the team that went to Kenya for a peaceful settlement of the Sudanese centurial grievances, and it was a success.

The freedom he and his father, grandfathers, and colleagues argued and fought for was finally listened to in 2005 and finally achieved in 2011 in his watch, the guidance he administered at the Ministry of Defense & Veterans Affairs was one among his proud rewards.

His inner love for the country didn’t only end at the SPLA as its former Deputy Chief of Operations & Training, he served the country Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs as its Undersecretary, the potentiality and decorated performances took him further into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation as First- Class Grade 1 Ambassador, that was another important call in which he greatly showcased his diplomatic ability and close-hearty engagements with the civil population of his beloved Country and the International Community.

The love and trust in him didn’t only end at the national level, his community of Twic East saw in him his father’s greatest gift of selflessness and adorned humanity and there, the community of Twic East opted for his guidance and mentorship until he met the unfortunate and invisible grueling hand of the merciless death on that evening of Tuesday the 13/8.

In him we had the vision, dream and mission of his great father and paramount chief Baba Sultan Ajang Duot de Bior, the  great man who never slept until he had on his leadership table inquiries and welfare plans for every individual and household, he have been polishing his father guiding and leadership rod until that very disturbing evening of Tuesday the 13/8, his great family, community, colleagues and Sultan Duot-Mangai Ajang Duot have the sheath and that rod will keeps its beautiful shape.

We wish to have let him know how great he was before he met his early demise, regrettably we would be talking to his lifeless caring heart, tapped ears and motionless physical body but through his soul we shall grieve and belief.

We may cry and wean, moan and announce his good deeds but none will appease his lifeless present, we wish to have shared our inner emotions with him during his long journey and careers of serving our nation and community.

Few among us might have told and narrated to him how dedicated he was and that will indeed be our general salutes to his greatness as we pin his legacy to our historical archive next to his father, mentor and colleagues who have gone before that Tuesday the 13/8.

His selfless sacrifices will be protected by better us, may his Legacy lives among generations. Salutes Gen. Ambassador Bior-Asuot Ajang Duot Bior-Kweigak.
