The South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) Announces Promotion of Senior Officers to Lieutenant General Rank

Juba, South Sudan — The South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) is pleased to officially announce the promotion of nine distinguished senior officers to the rank of Lieutenant General. These promotions reflect their outstanding service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the defence of our nation.

The newly appointed Deputies of the Chief of General Staff of SSPDF Gen. Dr. Paul Nang Majok. The newly promoted officers and their respective appointments are as follows:

  1. Lt. Gen. Kuol Deng Abot – Assistant Chief of Defence Forces for Training
  2. Lt. Gen. Kiir Garang Dekuek – Assistant Chief of Defence Forces for Ground Forces
  3. Lt. Gen. Morris Lakule – Assistant Chief of Defence Forces for Administration, Finance, and Personnel
  4. Lt. Gen. Makur Nhial Makeny – Assistant Chief of Defence Forces for Military Production
  5. Lt. Gen. Kong Thou Athian – Assistant Chief of Defence Forces for Operations
  6. Lt. Gen. Mathew Paljang Tap
  7. Lt. Gen. Bak Kernyang Akoon – Assistant Chief of Defence Forces for Air Force
  8. Lt. Gen. Maduot Bol Parek – Assistant Chief of Defence Forces for Riverine Operations
  9. Lt. Gen. David Ochucholi Lemony – Assistant Chief of Defence Forces for Military Intelligence
