Why elections must go ahead in 2015 , if Dr Riek do not sign peace before end of 2014

The circumstances dictated South Sudanese on July 9 , 2011 to confirmed President Salva Kiir as the President of the Republic of South Sudan for a period of 5 years without any election.  At the end of that period election would be held and permanent constitution would be promulgated. This was the consensus among all South Sudan.

This consensus was broken on the December 18 by 15% of South Sudanese led by Dr Riek Machar when he declared President Salva Kiir as illegitimate on the BBC radio following the  ‘’ the coup and  not coup theory on December 15 , 2013’’.

To solve the coup and not coup theory, the IGAD proposed that there would  be interim Government for 30 months in Juba, where the SPLM/A in Opposition would rule as the Prime Minister and SPLM/A in Government would rule as the President. This proposal was rejected by the SPLM/A in Opposition.

Dr Riek or the 15% has rewritten the rules in the middle of the game by abrogating the consensus  that said ‘’ Mr Kiir will rule till 2015’’ and they rejected ‘’ the interim Government of 30 months solution’’ by IGAD

Where do we go from here ? The 15% SPLM/A in Opposition can’t hold 85% South Sudanese hostage. If Dr Riek Machar do not sign peace agreement before December 31, 2014, then, the Government or the 85% South Sudanese must abandon the unproductive peace talk in Addis Ababa. They should come to Juba and return to the original plan of election in 2015 and the writing of the permanent constitution that would clearly define how political power be acquired.

The election in 2015 will remove the hands of international community from the affairs of South Sudan . International community doubt the democratability of South Sudan . The election will clear that doubt.

The constitution must resemble the United State of America Constitution. It must have the presidential  term limits. it must clear define how political power be achieved.  It must rule out any negotiation with any rebel movement. like SPLM/A O

After election and the writing of constitution in 2015  , the Government must tell the international community , ‘’ look , this is our constitution,  it is like the constitution of the small god , the USA , it says the Government of the Republic of South Sudan is not  , will not  negotiate with anyone holding GUN  with the intending of taking political power , if anyone  want power he must  put down his  guns , come and contest in the election’’
