Vacancy at the President’s Office

If it is true that Kirr is seeking remedy for the continuous struggle against ghosts who seem to strangle the life out of him; to the extend that his close friends and associates have been placing magic portions and animal parts to appease the spirits, then it is clear our president needs medical help. While the whole story seems to confirm how our present government has diverted from the very principles under which we took up arms and fought for our independence and sovereignty (how the government has failed the people of South Sudan), the rumors are an indication of Kirr’s mental state.

Today he is seeking to rid himself of spirits, the next time you will hear he is struggling to rid himself of living people by either declaring war against his own people or  assassination of people he thinks are against his presidency. While the president is busy consulting with the witch doctors (abandoning the church as reported), he is at present seeking to sentence his critics (political prisoners who he calls Garang Boys to death for treason). A crime that never happened and a coup that only existed in the mind of the president.

Till date, there has not been any credible evidence to suggest there was indeed a coup. Yes ,any people have suggested that, perhaps, president Kirr has been too close to the bottle (scotch), but ladies and gentlemen, recent actions, decisions and speeches suggest that what has befallen our president is more than just alcohol. alcohol does not cause hallucinations of coups.

The constitution of South Sudan clearly states that the office of the president shall be declared vacant when

Vacancy of the President’s Office
82.The office of the President of the Government of Southern Sudan shall fall vacant in any of the following cases:
  • expiry of his/her tenure;
  • death;
  • mental infirmity or physical incapacity as determined by a Medical Commission and resolved by the Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly;
  • Impeachment in accordance with the provisions of the Southern Sudan Interim
  • Constitution;
  • Acceptance of his/her resignation by the Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly;

People of South Sudan, what we are witnessing today is a state of mental infirmity of the president and the South Sudan general assembly need to move a motion to declare the presidency vacant. Enough of the irrational decisions, enough of the deep seated anger, hatred, paranoia and the hallucinations. Enough of  of the inability of the presidency to trust his own people or to win the trust of the people including his own army. Kirr needs to step aside and seek medical treatment and to make way for a new leadership of the republic of South Sudan.

Since the beginning of the current crises in South Sudan, the General Assembly has been too silent to speak up. This is their only chance to prove to the people of South Sudan that they have (MPS) have the best interests of the people of South Sudan at heart. The need to speak up on not only the mental state and capacity of the president but also to impeach him on the irrational decisions that the president and his close associates have made.

To the People of South Sudan, speak to your representatives in parliament and give them a stern warning that they need to be doing what they are elected to do. If they fail, vote them out for the MPs are not elected to sit in silence in their luxurious mansions and hotels whilst recieving huge salaries and allowances at the expense of the people they are supposed to represent.

The MPs need to get working; for the people.

Change can only come from the people. It is you and me to make that change if we want to see it happen.
