"We the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, with so little, for so long, we are now qualified to do anything, with nothing" By Konstantin Josef Jireček, a Czech historian, diplomat and slavist.
Pagan Amum with Riek Machar during the G-11 meeting with Riek’s camp in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, May 2014
——————
Reports by someone from Riek’s Camp
AFTER DR RIEK MACHAR RELENTLESSLY FOUGHT FOR THEIR RELEASE, PAGAN AMUM TALKED RUBBISH!
Here are Pagan Amum’s statements in Addis Ababa when in a meeting with the SPLM/A- In Opposition and the rest of the eleven (11) former detainees:
1. Pagan said, “We need peace & you the opposition must abandon the rebellion”.
2. We should go and negotiate with Salva Kiir’s regime.
3. This rebellion should stop, just because NUER were killed in Juba SHOULD NOT be used as an excuse to fight.
4 Pagan Amum also proposed the same SPLM line of ranking people in positions.
SINCERELY PAGAN MUST BE AS DUMB AS PRESIDENT SALVA KIIR.
Now that Riek Machar invested much of his time in the Bush pressuring Kiir’s regime to release these folks, especially Pagan Amum now turned against the rebellion? DR Riek Machar replied Pagan Amum statement in the meeting by saying that I can not betray these people by forging a fake peace with Salva Kiir’s regime.
