A South Sudanese Paradox – Baying for ‘their own share of blood’ at US-Africa Washington DC summit?

Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Luke 6:41

One thing is clear in my mind.  It is that I am aware South Sudanese Diaspora except me et al. are congregating in Washington DC to protest at President Kiir and his entourage for and against the civil war taking place back home.

But what significance can it play out in front of US-African dignitaries except for humiliating the sitting president of the youngest nation on Earth? Other than swelling up the already sore wound, it is a total disgrace to anyone who lives outside South Sudan and claims to be a South Sudanese if both camps play out that major tribal schism – Dinka and Nuer identity card.  It’s as obvious as a blue sky to whom Dinkas are for as well as Nuers are for former vice president rebel turned Chief Dr. Riek Machar.

But what about the third biggest tribe called Equatoria?  Where are they?  Are they also attending the protest movement?  Whose side are they anyway?  And what is their role?  Preserve the answer for another day!

However, we are very likely repeating what our brothers and sisters back home did – our mothers and fathers; our kids and siblings, and our neighbours and peacekeepers have died and are dying for this useless war.  Useless in deed since it will soon returns status quo onto the same table (see fulfilment of David Yau Yau’s quest for Murle enclave/semi-state/greater Pibor Administrative area or incoming state).  Our country is thrown back again to the cubs of the Western Atlantic Ocean, baying for their own share of blood of the innocents to feast on. But here there is no blood but an act of rhetorical solidarity to each of their tribal warlord.

Henceforth, the all-out war has already been open up in Africa, but the next battle front drawn outside North America – United States and Canada included, is nigh in sight.  Who knows perhaps this war can enter the Southern side of India Ocean to the Australian continent?  Perhaps it will cross into Europe – UK and other places with majority of South Sudanese.   Are their targeted prey not yet been so many dead?

The South Sudan we call home is being chased after to be caught, slaughtered and shared up by the prides of the Jungle.  Their sharing formula of ‘catch and divide up the carcass’ has been practised by many before but no tangible results so far.  What are we the innocent peace-loving noisemakers going to share among ourselves? Maybe, the bodies of our beloved ones.  Oh, the dust and tramps of the two big bull elephants fighting are suffocating and pining us down!  Oh God of the poor help ‘us’ out!  The signs of your coming are high up in the sky.  We can see them.  Come now and split us into two – the bads and goods!
