The Wounded Voice

2 min read

By Wenne Madyt Dengs

I am not a wounded hero but a vulnerable hero

I am a hero without heroic quality

A hero with low dignity

I am in visible

I am confined to my residential

I am hidden from public view

I am excluded from society

I volunteered for decades without expectations

I have little resilience to bounce my family needs

I am a husband of unluckiest wife

They shout to public to contribute

I realize my name is resourceful to them

I call it as investment in social privilege

 –

I demonstrate alienation everywhere

I am not a wounded hero but wounded vulnerable

The absence of elevators in hospital keeps me as a disabled   being

Inconvenience transport because of rutted roads keeps me impaired

For me South Sudan is treacherous
