Gossip and Rumors among South Sudanese Communities in Australia

Do you remember the article titled ‘gossips and rumours among south Sudanese communities in Australia’ posted recently here?

If you don’t, then, go down the list right here and you will find it.

On reading that article, you will find that it lacks pathos. Meaning it doesn’t have any persuading appeals to the readers’ emotions. Some of those who read it claimed they felt disgusted.

It was paradoxical what followed days later after the article got posted. The article exacerbated the very situation it was aiming to address.

The language choice; the topic itself, plus the fact, it wasn’t edited, affected the audiences’ responses. The scathing criticism that resulted; the annoyance and more gossips and rumours it generated went beyond one could have imagined.

After reading the article, some dudes projected their own insecurities, negativities, and fears on the writer in an amazing manner.

On reading the article, one of the dudes rushed to his Facebook account, and made an analogy on his wall between the author and someone he called a ‘nigga on a Tuesday, at about 11 in the morning, drunk as hell.’

According to this dude:

‘the legs of that niger were barely supporting him upright; his mouth falsely tells you that he is chewing a bar soap or something related to it – the mouth is foaming, that he tries to tell you something but his lips and tongu…e fail him. He then began to conclude, ‘Well, that’s how I see some writers. And I feel the same way.’

One of the commenters on that guy’s wall gave this response below:

‘Once upon a time, a certain dude posted an article about a chaotic social situation in his locality.

The article was posted in two blogging sites, i.e. panluel wel and borglobe network. In both sites, the article appeared different in content, both in wording and sentencing.

At panluel wel, the article looked pretty much edited. However, the borglobe one appeared completely unedited, and looking like it was written while on the run. In fact, it took an hour and half to write it all and post it; the author didn’t get enough time to edit that day.

The writer had mistakenly entrusted the polishing or editing job to the editors of the sites. And for sure, panluel wel, somehow, did some editing, while borglobe didn’t.

Because of the minor errors, a certain dude was last night prompted to take to the social media network, and started to quack in his usual arena of frivolity and nonsense.

But despite the histrionic attitudes, the big boy or author was aware of the mistakes, and was able to identify himself and the mistakes.

He has grown beyond hiding from his mistakes, and doesn’t see anyones as competitors.

He feels such competition is for those who feel inadequacies in themselves; who didn’t know the guy they thought is invincible can be impetuous.

The big boy took it all with modesty, and holds no grudges against the whimsical discoverer or competitor.

You wouldn’t assume or expect someone strives in secrecy, to compete you in a competition whose cause you mightn’t know. You don’t know what is in their minds until you see them running around, and blabbing about mistakes in total hysteria, thinking they found some soft spots that they are able to exploit if need be.’

Despite the errors in the article being moderate, and the majority of the readers being neutral, the haters could still out from their hiding dungeons, and could be heard thunderously loud and clear in the foreground, feeling unhappy, the off limit has been touched. But off limit or forbidden for how long?

If you can’t tell how long, then take a judge’s position and pass your guilty verdict on the author, but know that the situation the article exposed has gone on for a long time, and is not stopping any sooner.

A lot of guys such as the above projected some of the most scathing criticisms ever seen. And the greatest of these critics were known personally to the author. And as you can see from the above example given; these guys vomited the most poisonous feelings any author would dare to remember.

Seeing the author as a competitor, they made the delusional intention to strike fear into the writer, believing they would shut him down permanently. They didn’t understand the fact that doing so was only toughening up the already toughened dude.

The dude is an amateur and had written short informal articles in the past under alias on other south Sudanese websites, and since then, has always known someone is out there, wishing total worthlessness to whatever is in the content of anything anyone writes.

The author is very well aware that all that is important is to know that haters can gossip, spread rumours, and scathingly criticise, but it doesn’t mean they can make choices on what you do; how you do it.

Usually, they criticise and move on, looking for more to victimise as they have a tendency to do so. This means if you had fallen as a result of their destructive actions, you can now safely pick up from where you fell, and move on.

Sometime in the past, the author read some work on good and bad. It was a research work, and that means it was factual what was in the content.

According to that research, bad excites many delusion dudes than good as it is natural for them to just hate and wish bad luck to others. Despite not seeing any bad in persons of the choices in their list, they would still hate for the sake of it; let alone having something a little bid criticisable like in the above titled article.

But as a writer, it is not the criticism, gossips, and rumours that are the biggest problems. Working up to the courage and moving past your own uncertainties and vulnerabilities is your biggest challenge.

Therefore, in order to prevent dudes such as the above one from putting you down you have to strengthen belief in oneself.

Negativity won’t disappear, negative people like him won’t stop and critical comments won’t run out, that’s why the best way to deal with them is to learn how to not let them affect you.

Be very strong and many of similar minds such as the above dude, plus neighbourhood gossipers and rumour mongers, who might not be aware they knocking their heats on a rock, will simply fade or wither off like winter leaves of deciduous forests .
