Attack on Jalle: The Greater Bor Dinka Community Must Fully Address the Murle’s Menace
Greater Bor Community Leaders: When are you Going to Address the Perennial Murle’s Cattle Raiding Activities in your Area, Once and For All?

February 4, 2015 (SSB) — The recent incident of Juet’s cattle raiding is nerve-racking & hard to swallow. Last year, the government rushed to reward this criminal: David Yau Yau with Greater Pibor administration area (GPAA), of which he’s now in charge, but fails to control his intractable tribe. It was then, speculated that this tribe wouldn’t bother their neighbors if they are given their own administrative area, but it was deadly wrong miscalculated perception by the government!
Honestly, I’m not exacting sure whether the government did this for the fear of losing to SPLA-IO, or there was hidden agenda in appeasing David Yau Yau with GPAA. And now, the murle still looting Greater Bor community’s properties and abduct their children. A month ago, the cattle raiding happened at pawoi, Twic East County, but it was treated as such by MPs in Juba.
And yesterday, it torches Jalle, Bor County, and will be treated as if nothing happened. Now, where’s David Yau Yau, who claimed the responsibilities of GPAA? Why isn’t he doing something to stop his own nomadic people?
To Greater Bor Community, The cattle raiding & child abduction by Murle had been going on for centuries. This tribe had done innumerable damages in our community, in which we’ve lost great people defending our homes & children. Nevertheless, the Greater Bor community leaders and youths had never addressed this burning issue.
The community hasn’t done anything to quell this situation forever, and it’ll never stop anytime soon. It’s either the whole community decides to capitulate the cattle to the murle like what Anyuak had done, or come up with a better solution to address this issue from this madden tribe, and free ourselves and future progenies.
But, makes no mistake, this tribe wouldn’t stop invading our homes and abduct our children, either now or in the future if nothing is being done. Nothing will ever stop them, period! The only way to stop them is to look for the alternative solutions. However, in recent years, we’ve become enfeeble community of which I don’t know if we’re afraid to confront murle, or we don’t seem to care of the lives we’ve been losing everyday.
What I’ve noticed nowadays is that, we kept mouth piecing at each other; calling ourselves with silly names we had ever learned from foreign languages; saying Bor County is this…Twic County is that…And Duk County is so and so forth…But afraid to confront Murle with their cowardice acts. We had only become too good at breaking each other nerves & bones, but become bystanders at the issues obliterating our community. So, when are we going to stop this maddening & sickening issue, and address it?
The Greater Bor leaders immure themselves in Juba; busy with their own lives; saying that they’re well educated, and left their homes being raided and looted by murle. They seem not to care about the people that chose them to be their leaders. All they do in towns is eavesdropping; going around gossiping to other communities’ politicians; tearing themselves apart, then later on thrown away like trash bins when they’ve done damages to themselves. And that’s the only thing our leaders seem to be good at it nowadays, of which I never heard or seen before.
However, when any payam had been attacked by murle; its people killed, these politicians & church leaders waited for funerals to attend, and made rhetorical & diabolical speeches that don’t delivered anything. And when funerals ceremonies are done, they return to Juba and kept quit. They failed to meet and strategize some solutions that’ll protect their people back at homes. Really? When can you become the people’s leaders? And to assure you, you become leaders in Juba because of the people at villages.
But if you left them alone at villages to be finished by their enemies, do you think you’ll be leaders again in Juba? Absolutely not! So stop your shameful act, and save your own people at the villages at any cost!I’m sickened and tired to hear our people being killed & looted by their enemies, and you’re being silenced in Juba and everywhere as their leaders. When are you going to act? At your graveyards or when your souls are in heaven?
Lastly, when the government asks you to disarm your villages, you rush and brutally beat the youths to death, when they refused to hand over their guns, due to their fear that murle will come, and take away their cattle. However, when you successfully disarmed them, you fail to help them when they’re in needs of help as they watch murle driving away with their valuable assets. What’s wrong with you people in Juba?
You either relinquish those seats to the youth, to choose their own leaders to make decisions of what to do to quell this situation or do something to stop murle from abducting our children and cattle in Greater Bor area. It’s with a great shame; seeing you in suits always going home, and campaign of your own seats, and when you’re elected, you return to Juba & forgot about them;leaving them to die at the hands of these criminals, but not saying anything in the parliament when they lost their assets.
Now, it’s time to act, otherwise, this community will be finished at your watch! It’s never too late to save our community!
