FIVE DAYS TO LAUNCH SOUTH SUDANESE ARTISTS ASSOCIATION IN AUSTRALIA

March 2, 2015 (SSB) — South Sudanese Australian artists are preparing for their big day, which is coming in five days. The awaiting day in the calendar of this week mark the launch of the first South Sudanese artists Association in Australia.
Australia is hosting many South Sudanese musicians and artists. Coming from the war-torn country of South Sudan, none of the current artists has ever launched an album back in their home country. Yet, their dream career to represent South Sudan in musical industry is a dream they had hold dear for long period of time.
Few months ago, Australia witnessed the launching of “Pirdu” album, which in English mean “your life” album, composed by South Sudanese talented young singer Amac Don also known as Aluong Majok Mach Aluong and this week Daddizy Akech Dau successfully launched “Pal ku Tiel” or “let’s stop jealousy” album. This was in addition to many other albums South Sudanese musicians has launched in the past.
For all the great works and wonderful songs, a visionary South Sudanese musicians who has also successfully released many albums such as “Pill of dancing” named Grey Bull A.K.A Thon Garang, recently came up with a brilliance idea. He formed the very first South Sudanese Artist Association in Australia.
His goal is to bring together all the talented South Sudanese artists who are presenting South Sudan in music industry so that they can be united with one voice and work effortlessly together to achieve their common goal as artists.
As Grey Bull explains, each of these South Sudanese artist in Australia has different unique talent and skills. Teaming up for one associations will helps them in the following ways:
1. Establish bonds between South Sudanese artists all over Australia;
2. Enhance the unique role of arts in the community;
3. Foster and encourage the promotion of the members’ works;
4. Provide a national forum for the members;
5. Provide technical advice to the members;
6. Create links between South Sudanese artists and other communities;
7. Promote team work among the South Sudanese artists;
8. Organise and promote local events for the benefit of the community;
9. Creates and facilitates interactive activities within the community to keeping youth off the streets.
10. Create links between the South Sudanese artists in Australia and South Sudanese artists in South Sudan.
These ten objectives of South Sudanese Artists Association are not only benefiting to South Sudanese Australians artists but also to the South Sudanese community in general.
There is a deep faith that successful establishment of this association will bring positive image to the entire South Sudanese youth living in Australia. Therefore, it is unto all members of South Sudanese communities in Australia to come together next Saturday and support this brilliant idea of an association for our artists.
In words of the executive director of the association, Mr Grey Bull, all communities are invited to attend and celebrate the talent and spirit that bring these talented youth together.
The event is going to be held this coming Saturday, March 7th, at 4:30 pm. The venue is Central Ringwood community center, Bedford Park, Bedford Rd, Ringwood, Victoria.
