Does Mr. David Aoloch Deserve To Be A Writer?
By Samuel Reech Mayen, Kampala, Uganda
June 1, 2015 (SSB) — Basically, all writers are presumed to be people who are grammatically upright. Mr. Aoloch who is a university student is not an exceptional from this intellectual presumption. In his post in which Aoloch needs Dr. Majak to apologize to South Sudanese for what he termed as “flea” Tweet, he vividly exposed his weak understanding of the language.
Mr. David Aoloch stated that Dr. Majak tweeted that “I forgave my jailers for mine was a mere fleabite; the agony of my country a snakebite! I forgave them lest am encumbered with negativity!”
In his shallow argument, Mr. David says Majak has insulted the people of South Sudan by calling them and the government fleas. What Mr. David failed to appreciate is the fact that Dr. Majak De Agoot was comparing what happened to him and the citizens of South Sudan. In this comparison, Mr. Agoot feels that his detention harmed nothing compared with many lives that have been lost and continue to be lost. In Aoloch’s article, the comparison of fleabite with snakebite is poorly explained base on his personal feelings toward Majak D’ Agoot.
In short, the author would like to give some hints that Mr. Aoloch should exploit to criticize Dr. Majak. The fact that Majak was/is a close friend of the president is a good ground for Aoloch to wonder why Dr. Majak leaves the government. He should have asked questions such as “What does Dr. Majak want? This would have made a good title of his article.
Mr. Aoloch should have also stated that Dr. Majak cannot achieve anything if he doesn’t have the support of the very people who are today in the government. He needs to have informed him that in politic, one does not follow his interest but instead, the interest of the people.
Mr. David Aoloch just poured out his hatred against Majak by lying to the public that Majak insulted the people of South Sudan and the President by comparing him to the ICC fugitive of Khartoum. Ironically, David Aoloch has insulted the people and the government. He does not know the legal implications of the manner of his writing.
Generally, the fact that the proceeding of the case against the former detainees was stayed is a message to the entire nation that government is committed to unite the people of South Sudan. It is therefore important that chance is given to the government to try all measures in uniting the people before rushing in with weak opinions specifically at this hour where some former detainees are expected to return to the government.
The author advises Mr. David Aoloch who seems to have ideas but does not know how to capture the attention of the readers to develop positive writing. Public is not ready to be lied or to be bored with less intellectual articles.
