Check your factsheet before passing judgment: The case of unfounded hatred and vilification of Dr. Majak D’Agoot
By Maboor Guem Yol, Juba, South Sudan
November 25, 2015 (SSB) — I come from Yirol East County in Lakes State- Ciec. I’m tired of this Gwala- Aliab campaign against my distant cousin – Dr. Majak D’Agoot. I’m a real person but I’ve chosen to use your tactics you cowards since you use aliases. I know Dr. D’Agoot will be embarrassed that his grand uncles have also chosen not to raise their heads above the parapet. I live in Juba and even the powerful and sometimes unfairly described as notorious Marial Nuor and innocently sanctioned Gen. Marial Chanuong Yol will not protect me from Kiir’s thugs either.
To my Gwala friends, your betrayal of Dr. D’Agoot is not different from your betrayal of the Archdeacon Archibald Shaw (Machuor) who founded a mission in Malek. What is, in fact, Dr. D’Agoot’s problem with you and my neighbours – the Aliab – other than confronting the despot to help you to be free? You went for his blood and you failed; your new form of battle after he survived your scheme of eliminating him based on your treacherous “Lirpiou Fatwa” for any so-called Bor to strike him on sight because of some old feud in which he has no hand but involving the death of Justice Martin Majier which he (Dr. Majak) protested and Dr. Garang and Mr. Kiir took it unfortunately personal on him, is to denigrate and pull him down on his political climb, hoping that you will have some reward, of scalding the Warrap fortress of leadership. Watch out, you ain’t getting it right.
Cdr. Majak D’Agoot, as he was called those days, supported both Dr. John Garang de Mabior (RIP) and Cdr. Salva Kiir in their leadership. The only time he lost favour of the two men was when he made strong remarks in Chukudum in 1994 on the death of Justice Martin Majier Gai Ayuel – which he described as the most unfortunate thing to have happened to the relations of people of Bor. Cdr. Malok Aleng also followed Cdr. Majak’s line. Some of your known folks like Cdr. Tahir Bior and Ayuen Alier, decided to go underground. At that point, the ambivalence of your guys put Cdr. Majak on the receiving end While Cdr. Malok was saved by his blood ties with Cdr. Majak.
One thing that couldn’t add up in your minds was Cdr. Majak’s sincerity to protect you as he did around Kapoeta and your guilt on betraying his uncle Akuot Atem de Mayen who was also your brother-in-law twice (The Lirpiou people) and who fought for South Sudan during the Anyanya I War. I think South Sudan should draw a lesson from your unreliability. Dr. Majak is the man that has never asked for anything including asking his Twic people to crown him. Yet, you are determined to bring him down. I take the first line of fighting his enemies in his defence.
If for the thickness of blood between you and Aliab, do also note that the thickness of blood between us and Twic (Pakeer) calls for action. You have ridden on the bandwagon of these Rek thugs from Warrap just to take advantage. Don’t we know why the Bor are hated by the neighbours? It is because of your greed and lack of ethics. Please learn from your steep curve. One person among you worth my respect is Moulana, Uncle Abel Alier (whom real spirit of Lirpiou ordained as a humble soul). The Twic people – my neighbours are naturally humble, clean, ethical and reverent. They dislike stealing and anything untoward.
Tell me, how many of them are in Kiir’s thievery project like John Agou, Athorbei Gaddafi (the two brothers) and many of your thieving officials and generals? See what they (Twic people) did recently to fleece Mr. Deng Dau (their MP) because he has joined your bad ways. Please leave the Twic alone with their humility. You may call them stupid as you do but you don’t know the amount of reverence they enjoy across among us, the Nuer, the Murle etc even though they are sometimes victimised for your bad habits. I also like the Juet people who have picked something from the Twic. I don’t envy you for your trickery and lack of ethics guys.
By the way, my mother is from Twic and my maternal grandmother came from Athooc, so closed to this leader of yours grabbing land in Bortown and building 8 skyscrapers at a one go. I grew up in your cattle camps. I also went to Pignodu with you before relocating to North America. I know you in and out guys and big shame on you – especially on the internet Gwala thugs.
As for Aliab, we are capable of handling them. They should just stay clear from Twic and Bor politics. Abraham Awolich who is busy kowtowing the rogue Jieng Coucil of Elders (JCE) for favours and Aciek Machar who is spending all his time in the west on clumsy studies with unteachable attitude should desist from imitating your dirty schemes against nationalists who made us who we are today as South Sudanese through their immensurate sacrifices. These two (Awolich and Aciek) have tried their best to mortgage the stance of Aliab people on South Sudan politics through copycatting superfluous Buor in their thievery trade with Warrap hoodlums.
As Archdeacon Archibald Shaw (Machuor), when Dr. Majak came with the revival of the Malek Academy, he didn’t win your trust but your envy. That is true my envious and unkind people of Bor. What a shame!
Now, the current balls up in South Sudan is being deflected from the clean-cut failure of the current autocratic regime in Juba to maculate those who liberated the country and patriotically voiced their genuine concerns regarding the wrong trajectory the country had taken in the hands of the featherbrained leader after gaining independence. In spite of having been humiliated and vilified through the faked December 15, 2013 coup attempt, Dr. D’Agoot remained astute and resilient, still focusing rebuilding the social fabric of South Sudanese people by categorically refusing to join the derisory bloodletting on either side to the conflict. Such is undeniably a salient trait of Dr. Majak across South Sudan.
Who doesn’t know in this country that only the Former Detainees (FDs) are working day and night to bring peace to this country? After six futile rounds of peace negotiations in Addis Ababa, Kiir and Machar asked IGAD in July 2015 to give them a compromise. What, then, does Dr. D’Agoot have to do with giving away the will and sovereignty of South Sudanese in the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (ARCISS)?
The schemes of your evil-minded, covetous and foolhardy clique in Juba have been ascertained since day one of South Sudan. But, against all your ill-wishes for him, I confide that Dr. D’Agoot’s interminable love, unrelenting sacrifice and commitment to salvaging the downfallen nation of South Sudan will always absolve him in the face of his envious enemies. Truth will ultimately prevail in the end of all these discombobulations.
