Corruption and rebellion in South Sudan

January 25, 2016 (SSB) — My dear beloved citizens of South Sudan, this is to inform you that during the last three weeks, soon after Christmas, I had decided that we must normalize our relations with our brothers and sisters of our sisterly neighboring Republic of The Sudan.

I had dispatched my personal special envoy to Khartoum since the end of December 2015, who has been discussing this matter of the normalization of our common borders with the Sudanese authorities in Khartoum

Today, I want to announce to you, beloved citizens of the Republic of South Sudan, that I have instructed those who are concerned with this matter within our government to withdraw forthwith, any of our Republic of South Sudan army units on the borders, to at least five miles south of our common borders of 1st January 1956, in accordance with our commitment to the terms of The Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) of 2005 with Khartoum.

David Yau Yau is dead; David Yau Yau has been arrested by the national security. “Nope,” said his spokesperson, “David Yau Yau and Baba Medan are currently in a meeting with the president at J-1.” I think we shud go with the message from the spokesperson, rather than the wild rumors.

David Yau-Yau, the Murle militia leader who led a military rebellion against the gov’t of South Sudan leading to the creation of the Greater Pibor Administrative of which he (Yau-Yau) has been appointed the administrator by President Kiir.

January 25, 2016 (SSB)  —  “Can dead person again talks. This is just very useless allegation that I cannot even put consideration to it,” said General Yau Yau. “They are not responsible for the killing,” he said. Adding “And Yau Yau is the General of this country so the information is just a propaganda created by the enemies of this country. We cannot really pay attention to such wild allegations; well, I am not the only one to be centred on such allegations but it is the common allegation that normally happens. For them they want to threaten the security wise of the nation,”

January 25, 2016 (SSB)  —  The  youth  have the capacity to change the way this nation’s  politics  is run. Nobody can undermine the power of youth. First they are majority in south Sudan. The majority of the current generation youths are learned and very enlightened. They also have the potential to be opinion leaders in society because fortunately our parents do not believe in the power of knowledge.

We have had enough of the politicians telling us. Youths are the leaders of tomorrow. We have had enough of older people seeking to win our support and not keep their word we honesty have had enough of some of the leaders claiming to be grooming the youths for tomorrow that never comes.

The colonial root of the proposed 28 states in South Sudan

January 25, 2016 (SSB)  —  We, the Padang Community Representatives comprising Community Leaders, members of Council of States, members of National and State Legislative Assemblies, Youth and Women Associations, met today 19th January 2016 under the auspices of Padang Community Union (PCU), to respond to Taban Deng Gai on his reckless remarks on media and Collo Community for claim of our land.

Padang Community would like to inform the public that Taban Deng Gai’s statements on the media are irresponsible instigations and a public call for inter-ethnic war to further conflict between Padang, Nuer and Collo Communities and that Collo’s claim of land grabbing by Padang Community is a baseless fabrication formulated by few individual Collo politicians.
