April 15, 2016 (SSB) — The Executive Director of International Youth for Africa (IYA) Ter Manyang Gatwech has call on the government of South Sudan to release members of the SPLM-IO who are welcoming the Gen. Alfred Lado Gore on Tuesday. ‘’Why the continued arrested yet it is time for implementation of peace agreement’’ 24 article of transitional constitution of South Sudan 2011, say (1) ‘’every citizen shall have right to the freedom of expression and media, reception, dissemination of information, publication and access to the press without prejudice to public order, safety or morals as prescribed by law’’

Local media have reported that 16 members of the SPLM/A-in-Opposition in Juba were arrested by the National Security Service for seeking to mobilize people to turn out for a reception for their deputy chairman. Why people of South Sudan are not happy about the real implementation of peace agreement? Is South Sudan Peace Agreement a hazard to other people?

The vision of our country lies in the hands of our youths. They are filled with tremendous and towering ambitions. It will be a great wastage of human resources if these youths are not given an opportunity to exercise their talent. This beautiful land needs these youths in order for our soil to become a brighter one.

Speaking at a press conference in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Wednesday, Manyang called on the National Security Service to release the opposition members immediately without delayed. Peace is what we want. We don’t want war in our beloved country, South Sudan.

He called on the two warring parties to stop political bickering over power and commit to the peace-building process and peace implementation in South Sudan. Manyang call on both parties to take in the youth Transitional Government of National Unity (TGoNU)

The Human Right activist and Youth  activist called on both Mr. Kiir and Riek to unite  the people of South Sudan first for the best interests of people’s will , while stressing the need for reconciliation and accountability for whoever perpetrated abuses against innocent civilians during the civil war in South Sudan.

In conclusion, the role of the youth in the nation building is crucial. They are problem solvers, have a positive influence on other young people and the nation, and are extremely ambitious. They have the ability to create an identity for themselves and move the nation forward. However, they will not be able to do this without the support of their Government and fellow youths. So the youths can make their beautiful land flourish and shine in success.

  1. Well, it was an implicitly known when those journalist works against the government and pretending to be human right group. But now, explicitly, those journalists were part of the rebels as they were enemies within. Today, I am glad those goons have been put behind bars and they should not be deprived for the crimes they have committed against South Sudan. Make sure they are in the box or trash bags before they get out of there. No mercy period!
