Why I must intervene in Lino Lual Lual's and Sunday de John's Drama Show!
By Tito Awen Bol, Eldoret, Kenya
June 16, 2016 (SSB) — Though I convinced myself earlier to stop writing from May this year until the end of the year, the lethal exchange of words between the duo has disturbed by humble conscience and therefore I convicted my rightful mind to tell these great men that enough is enough. The readership is tired of the brutal abuses that emanated from where I don’t know. Remember, literature is dead in South Sudan and any person that follow your writing is your valuable client of your literature.
Instead of boring or discouraging such clients to the point of discarding your writings, you better stop and swallow some parts of your pride. The last article by Lino Lual Lual which was entitled as “Sunday de John breached the medical ethics to become a kickbacks mouthpiece of nincompoops.” This compelled and propelled me to intervene and tell off these promising intellectuals to stop tarnishing their reputable personalities on no grounds.
I have been following the exchanges between Lino Lual Lual and Sunday de John which just started as a result of Sunday de john’s reaction to some gravy political issues between Lino Lual Lual and his two perceived home enemies by the persons of Makiir Gai and Akot Abiem. I feel there is no much points of loggerhead in this since it was not a personal matter between Lino Lual Lual and the duo; as well it would have easily ended simply if there is no further interference from enemies of peace to fuel the continuation of the current differences between Lino Lual Lual and Sunday de John, I guessed!
Dear Lino Lual Lual and Sunday de John
You are great men with great future and reputations, we (youths) are your promoters and demoters as well. Kindly, listen to my humble intervention. I am disappointed by the abuses and insults that the two of you have employed, mind your future and mind your languages. Is it fair for great men of your calibre to falsely call each other street kids?
Reading the terms employed by two of you, I realized that you don’t know each other but just using the information acquired from your ”friends” who are playing the cards of enmity under the table to see the two of you spoiling your future for they know that you are great men of hope for this Country. It is not anybody feeding you with information against another person is a friend, no!
Dear Lino Lual Lual
Let me quote this English proverb Paraphrasingly, he who keep throwing stone at every barking dog will never reach to the destination. You are likely to fail the war against the duo (Makiir Gai and Akot Abiem) for the following reasons:
- Broadening the list of enemies beyond your state of Gogrial will leave the room for your “enemies” to breathe and resettle while you are busy fighting the newly made enmity. When Nkrumah of Ghana mind much about the enemies of Africans and his enemies outside Ghana (the white colonial masters of other African Countries) gave the room for his enemies within Ghana to overthrow him,
- Fighting the same “war” single-handedly against Makiir Gai and Akot Abiem without leaving it to other home intellectuals may make it as if it is personal problem between you and the duo. Just leave it a while for others to pick from where you stopped,
- Stating that Sunday de John is hired by Makiir and Akot Abiem as if there are no youths who know how to write in Gogrial state would make you loss the support from home boys;
- Touching on the issue of Makiir Gai having used his wrongly acquired wealth to feed the community hence influencing the leadership will fit you against many natives of Aguok community.
Dear Sunday de John
Your first respond to Lino Lual Lual was justifiable because Gogrial is part of South Sudan and Lino Lual Lual is an intellectual whose thinking can be given attention and subsequent response of all sorts from all corners of South Sudan.
Indeed, South Sudan has many rich men who do not support their communities and if an individual did such, then that particular point can be defended by any person so as to encourage generosity in our country. But the following points cut you short of your well intended intervention:
- Your second reaction to Lino Lual Lual’s article. Describing Lual Lual with those degrading terms like lunatic provoked his emotion and the feeling to shift the “war” against you and
- Your persistent and continued responses to Lino’s articles made it clear to him that the newly found enemy is indeed a hired machine and can be considered as a force to reckon and
- If you had no intention against Lino Lual Lual but just clarification on what Makiir Gai did to Aguok community, why not call it enough and exhaust the assault?
My Motive of intervention
I am driven by one motive, great future leaders of your kind cannot tarnish your personalities over nothing. Both of you can swallow your pride and for the sake of your futures, just stop responding to each other especially the use of baseless insults which unknowledgeable readership can perceive as if they are true. It is my humble concern, take it gentlemen!
