Jonglei state forms Independence Day committee to mark July 9th

June 27, 2016 (SSB) — The governor of Jonglei State H.E. Philip Aguer Panyang has issued an order for the formation of committee to oversee the celebration of South Sudan Independence Day 2016.

The Governor fashioned a committee to systematize the fifth anniversary of South Sudan independence projected to be celebrated on July 9th this year notwithstanding lack of funds to operationalize the occasion.

The sub-committees that include Secretariat, Mobilizations, security, and catering committees have been formed headed by Jonglei State deputy Governor Gen. Peter Wal Athieu Madol.

The commissioner of Bor County Hon. Isaac Mamer Ruk has been tasked with mobilization and information committee meanwhile the services and catering committee is chaired by the newly appointed Mayor of Bor Municipality Prof. Hakim Ajieth Bunny.

The security committee championed by the minister for local government and law enforcement deputized by commander of operations in Jonglei State Maj. Gen. Atem Aguang will safe and sound the town, and all the neighboring areas.

Meanwhile the secretariat committee will take minutes of the celebration, including mastering the event and ceremony.
