Dr. John Garang: While I leave this world hereafter, to those who claim to have divine qualifications
By Garang Aleu Abraham, Beijing, China
January 5, 2017 (SSB) — In his 18 pages longest speech ranking after late Hugo Chavez 8 hours, late Fidel Castro 4 hours 29 minutes, Gordon Brown 1 hour 9 minutes and Queen Elizabeth’ 111772 words speeches to mention but few in different occasions. His speech in Nyayo stadium Nairobi Kenya, during signature of Comprehensives Peace Agreement (CPA) that resulted in to establishment of youngest nation (South Sudan) in the world. Dr Garang testimonial idiom remained a controversy in the intellectual communities’ concern: who was John Garang referring to?
Garang’s question of divinity monopoly over decision remain an answered in his lengthy speech, but before I continue, let’s define divinity, a dictionary meaning of “divine” is the essential nature or condition of being a god, so who were those spiritual powers he was referring to? It’s been a question ever citizen is intending to know all along since time of his death, should there be spiritual struggles in his hierarchy of command that jeopardized his performance in the movement? Has he been ignored at some point because he luck spiritual superiority? How did he envisage his death thereafter signature of comprehensive peace agreement was also a concern of many citizen in the country.
This question continued to be answered in different ways, majority of citizens are pointing their hands to Khartoum and their supremacies rulers of National Umma party under Abd al Rahman al Mahdi and family since 1885, Ismail al Azhari of Democratic unionist party between 1900 – 1970s to present Sudan national congress party, this cycle leadership rotated around few families in the north for a last hundreds years back, religion oriented constitution have been blocking non Islamic citizen from participating in a country’s top job exercise.
However, these folks prolonged their domination of central power. Any citizen out of that circle is/was considered irrelevant, whether in the south or north, classes were based on religion affiliation and tribal clique hegemonies, should this be one of the groups he referred to, I don’t know.
Presumptions did not stop there, in south Sudan, kingdoms, chiefdoms, spear holders (beny ke bith) prophet divinations are considered to play a major role in leadership determination. Probably, Garang was also under pressure from this group of individuals attached to the categories above, southern Sudan region by then had some Kingdoms of Shilluk, Anyuak, Zande and Lotuho which might have more say in the national libration management, chiefdoms are source of leadership generation in some tribes like Dinka.
Unless you are of a strong personality to surface out of a deeply rooted leadership history of chiefdom contiguous, otherwise you are considered a leader, moreover, some prophets like Ngundeng made assurances in his prophecies about leadership’s stronghold suited in some families, according to a spiritual leader; in one of his forecasting, he said “a leader will be born one day in Dhurgon’s offspring” ( I am not able to translate it in Nuer) but that fantasy created allots of impatience to some members of that given family.
As long as his predictions and prophecies are still popular in some ethnic deliberation, his divine power will continue to influence decision making in fulfillment of prophecies, therefore, any authority in place without member from prophesied families is always lead under a serious scrutiny.
Not only that, world powers today inherited strong hold from old Empires like, Roman Empire in Italy, The Russian Empire in Russia, British Empire in UK, Han Dynasty in china and Persian Emperor Achaemenes Empire, Babylonian powers in Asia and northern part of Africa.
These traditional world powers (world Lions) have been projecting their surveillances in trying to regulate third world countries performances through their human right watch, army embargo, sanctions, stopping of financial aid, regime change through may be forceful means, all these are done by world heroes in attempt to maintain a humankind order. They believe to have a divine qualification.
These are my predictions, what about yours?
To be continued.
