South Sudan: The Illusion of the “World’s Youngest Nation”!
The following poem is written as heartfelt nostalgia of greatness of our ancestral land of Cush and of the Kingdom Kush as mentioned by the prophets of God in the Holy Bible. It is the author’s attempt to stir the hearts and minds of the rulers of South Sudan to rename country by its biblical and historic name of Cush; so the beloved land Cush would be blessed to the overflow.

Sunday, March 31, 2019 (PW) — A nation whose land is rooted in the history of creation, in which the second river in the Garden of Eden runs through its entire land; can’t call itself the World’s youngest nation! (Genesis 2:13)
A nation whose people are the descendants of Cush son of Ham, grandson of Noah and oldest brother of Egypt; can’t call itself the World’s youngest nation! (Genesis 10:6)
A nation whose daughter is the wife of the great Prophet Moses, who wrote five of the greatest books in the Bible; can’t call itself the World’s youngest nation! (Numbers 12:1)
A nation that Prophet Isiah knew its people to be tall and smooth-skinned, and aggressive nation of strange speech, whose land is divided by rivers; can’t call itself the World’s youngest nation! (Isaiah 18:1)
A nation whose people are foretold by King David the Prophet, that its people will submit themselves to God; can’t call itself the World’s youngest nation! (Psalm 68:31)
A nation whose people are recorded by the LORD to be among those who acknowledged Him along with Rahab and Babylon; can’t call itself the World’s youngest nation1 (Psalm 87:4)
A nation that Job the Prophet knew about the richness of its land with natural resources; can’t call itself the World’s youngest nation! (Job 28:19)
A nation who Prophet Daniel also knew about the richness of its land with gold and silver; can’t call itself the World’s youngest nation! (Daniel 11:43)
A nation whose king marched out with great army to rescue Prophet Hezekiah and deter the destruction of Jerusalem from the Assyrians army; can’t call itself the World’s youngest nation! (Isaiah 37:9) (2 Kings 19:9)
A nation who the LORD reprimand the Israelites to be like them by asking “Are not you Israelites the same to me as the Cushites?”; can’t call itself the World’s youngest nation! (Amos 9:7)
A nation who are biblically known as the Cushites and historically known as the Kushites of the great Kingdom of Kush; can’t call itself the World’s youngest nation! (Zephaniah 2:12)
A nation whose kings ruled over Egypt for 100 years as the rulers of the 25th Dynasty; can’t call itself the World’s youngest nation!
It is time to cast aside this folly of the World’s youngest nation and dispose this Arabic derogatory name called South SUDAN and all of its dysfunctional curses from land of Cush; so we wouldn’t call ourselves the World’s youngest nation again!
It is time to rightfully reclaim the spirit of our great ancestors who are revered by the Prophets throughout the Holy book, from Genesis to Zephaniah, so that we can make the land of Cush great again!
