Duk’s representatives were deadly angered for realizing that they have had a bad choice to bring their complaint to be solved by the same people whom they are accusing.

March 25, 2016 (SSB)  —-  “Chairs were already distributed, Kuoldit continued, now it is hard to remove them from those ones who have taken them.” But it was a self-distribution by Twic and Bor Counties and he knows it, it was kind of looting and this was why he intervened. And again, how hard is it when it is because of this that he intervened for a solution

When Philip Thon Leek, an area MP told the sitting that they would go and tell their community about this as they are only giving out the views of the people and if they accept it, well and good and if not, then they would still come back.

Kuol Manyang suddenly turned into a typical GENERAL upon hearing that, he insisted that no more consultations of the community, ‘just take what you have been given, no more consultations’. Makuei supported Kuoldit by adding that you just tell the community and no more complaint, he went on and say what he repeats every time that unless Duk needs an “affirmative action!”

Affirmative action is a policy of favoring members of a disadvantaged group who suffer discrimination within a culture. Often, these people are disadvantaged for historical reasons such as oppression or slavery. That is what Michael thinks about Duk!

Isaiah Chol’amot at his capacity as the head of Statistic commission of South Sudan supported that census was accurate and clear, ‘as far as Duk’s population is concern, you deserve that representation’ he added. The commissioner is not even aware that 28 states were not distributed on the bases of population. He also thinks that his work was good enough when he has placed Uror County where it does not belong, and he thinks he is a legend in that!

Finally, Maduk Madel relieved me and the whole house when he said that, ’Gen. Kuol, we are not taking what you have said, no any community is left behind, we are the community because we are representing them, so you better go and sleep knowing that we have not accepted it’. Defying Gen. Kuol’s orders that Duk should take the four seats and complain no more!

Despite Maduk’s statement, Makuei still ignored and lamented that Duk would go and take two people as ministers to Aguer and four MPs to be swore in and Aguer will look for a commission or ministry to be added to Duk, those were figments/fictions of appeasement in minister’s mind as if he were the governor.

Appeasing Duk with a ministry instead of some more MP seats! Better take all the ministries and give us all our seats.

Duk representatives were still refusing, that was when Deng’tiel said that if Duk is pulling out of the state, then we Bor and Twic East Counties will pull out as well meaning that, Jonglei state, if needed to be divided because of you-Duk, then be clear enough, you can go with your state and we remain with our brothers Twic in our own state…or something like that

He went on and warned Kuoldit that, ‘instead of me having a conflict with my people, Deng suggested, I better have a conflict with you’.

Meaning that he is not ready to surrender the seats he has snatched because his community is now happy with his role of which Kuoldit seems to follow exactly Deng’s statement to the disadvantage of Duk that,” instead of having a conflict with Bor-his community, he (Kuoldit) better have a conflict with Duk”.

He abruptly ended the meeting by advising Duk that if there is where they can complain, it is up to them.

There is nowhere else to complain if it is not to His Excellency, President Kiir of which I know, even Kuoldit, Michaeldit and somebody else knows it that it will be hard because they would be at the door way into the presidents house, or might have already influenced the president because they could take tea and talk to the president anytime they damn want.

But my advice to Duk is to not give up because our president is not their type anyway, he is not from Bor County, neither is he from Twic East County

Gabriel Alak couldn’t say something beyond Chol’amot’s. Atem Garang, whose suggestion was used was quiet as a wood.

Aguer Panyang, the governor was damn silent, he couldn’t even cough; he could only grin from ear to ear, winking his eyes, stretching his neck and adjusting himself in his chair

What he failed to resolve in Jonglei state was being resolved by Kuoldit and Makuei for him. Deng’tiel and Makuendit possessed the room; Duk’s representatives were deadly angered for realizing that they have had a bad choice to bring their complaint to be solved by the same people whom they are accusing.
